Job Description Qualified Applicator License- Pole Test And Treatment Technician About the Company Gold Coast Utility Specialists is an independent utility consulting contractor supporting clients with transmission and distribution infrastructure and vegetation inspection. We are a team of industry experts that provides a wide spectrum of services. These range from field oversight and auditing to designing and implementing safety programs and materials. About the Role(s) As a Union Crew Member represented by IBEW Local 1245, you will support and perform utility infrastructure inspection, maintenance, and restoration tasks in the field. This is a union-represented position governed by the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) between the company and IBEW 1245. Crew Members play a critical role in upholding safety, productivity, and quality standards while helping ensure reliability and service continuity for utility infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: • Operate in full compliance with all company and union safety standards, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety vests, gloves, and steel-toe boots., • Carry tools, materials, and equipment (e.g., hand tools, tarps, preservatives) to and from the job site or utility structures., • Excavate and backfill soil around utility poles and other structures as required, using manual or powered equipment., • Apply preservative treatments or coatings to utility pole groundline areas to prevent or repair deterioration., • Assist in the structural reinforcement of deteriorated poles, including truss installation., • Maintain pace and quality of work consistent with company expectations and project/customer standards., • Operate company vehicles or utility vehicles (UTVs), if qualified under the company driver program., • Support the Foreman in ensuring vehicles are stocked, maintained, and that job sites remain clean and organized., • Adhere to all policies outlined in the collective bargaining agreement, including drug and alcohol policies, dress code, and job site protocols., • Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred., • Experience: No prior utility or construction experience is required. Training will be provided in accordance with company and union guidelines., • Licensing Requirements:, • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (if required to operate company vehicles);, • Must have an active California Qualified Applicators License (QAL), • Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform physical labor outdoors in varying weather conditions. Requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., kneel, dig, climb, and work in rugged field conditions (reasonable accommodations may be made)., • This is a union-represented position under IBEW Local 1245. Compensation, benefits, and working conditions are governed by the collective bargaining agreement., • Opportunities for advancement and skill development are available in accordance with the union progression structure., • Overtime, standby, and emergency work may be required, as outlined in the CBA. Compensation: Pay Range $23.00 – $30.00 per hour
