This position will be responsible for operational reporting of production metrics including development of standard costing, detailed variance reporting, inventory costing methodology, inventory levels and turnover, working with supply chain, gross margin analysis, capital spending analysis, payroll, and finally, support budgeting and forecasting processes. This role provides critical financial analysis and partners with leadership to ensure strong financial controls and reliable reporting. The Senior Accountant also assists with process improvements to enhance efficiency across the finance function. Primary Responsibilities: Financial Reporting & General Ledger • Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and general ledger reconciliations., • Lead month-end and year-end closing activities to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting., • Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP., • Perform detailed account reconciliations (bank accounts, intercompany, fixed assets, inventory, prepaid expenses, etc.)., • Analyze variances and trends, providing explanations and recommendations where needed., • Ensure adherence to GAAP, internal policies, and regulatory requirements., • Maintain and improve internal controls, documenting processes as needed., • Prepares bi-weekly payroll, • Maintaining accurate records of payroll documentation and transactions, • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounting processes., • Contribute to system upgrades or implementations., • Collaborate with operations, procurement, HR, and other departments to resolve financial issues and improve accuracy of reporting. Basic Qualifications: Education & Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CMA, CPA or CPA-track preferred)., • 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong emphasis on cost accounting., • Solid understanding of GAAP and general ledger functions, including inventory and manufacturing-related accounts., • Hands-on experience with standard costing, inventory valuation, variance analysis (material, labor, and overhead), and bill of materials/routings., • Experience supporting month-end close for manufacturing operations, including cost accruals and reconciliation of WIP and inventory accounts., • Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with ERP/accounting systems., • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities., • High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills., • Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment., • Hybrid working schedule, • May require occasional extended hours during closing periods or audits. Preferred Qualifications: Interpersonal Skills: • Proactive, energetic, flexible and team-oriented approach to people and processes, • Strong written and verbal communications skills., • Strong accounting process experience and understanding of overall business processes, • Advanced knowledge of accounting standards, with specific experience in manufacturing operations., • Expert Excel skills and advanced experience in ERP systems and database management., • Ability to effectively plan and organize, • The ability to predictably and regularly attend work and to be punctual, • The ability to read and understand financial documents, • The ability to work cooperatively with others, • The ability to deal politely and professionally with customers and/or coworkers, • The ability to perform several tasks at once, • The ability to follow direction or instruction, • Periods of evening and weekend work may be required, especially at month-end close and year-end audit time frames
