We're looking for a Specialty Sales Director to make sure goodr can be found in every boutique account out there. You'll be the fearless captain overseeing our specialty relationships, making sure our shades are in all the right niche places. Get ready to lead a team, hit those sales goals, and show everyone that "bigger" accounts aren't always "better." RESPONSIBILITIES LEADERSHIP • Lead by example by consistently living into goodr's values of Fun and Authenticity, • Be a culture carrier by leaning into our three fundamentals of communication, professionalism, and vision, • Hold monthly one-on-ones with each team member to build upon their role duties and hold everyone accountable, • Ask clear questions, increase everyone's knowledge, and empower the team so that we can get the best out of every person in your department, • Give consistent, continuous feedback and challenge your flock to perpetually grow so they become the best version of themselves, • Own your team's budget and ensure its accuracy, • Use imagination and wisdom to set team goals and communicate them clearly, • Challenge the status quo ALWAYS. The phrase "this is how we've always done it" is banned here at goodr, so don't be afraid to push out of your comfort zone and encourage your team to do the same ROLE SPECIFIC • Build and execute strategic growth plans for specialty retail partners across the U.S. (running, outdoor, boutique fashion, surf, ski, and other specialty categories), • Develop and stand up processes for specialty account management — creating the playbook for growth, reporting, and relationship management in this channel, • Design unique account strategies tailored to specialty retail needs, driving sales growth and brand presence, • Establish account-level sales goals, KPIs, and forecasting processes to align specialty business growth with company objectives, • Cultivate strong partnerships with specialty retailers through joint planning, high-touch account management, and creative collaborations, • Monitor industry trends, regional opportunities, and competitor activity to inform specialty strategies and uncover new business opportunities, • Partner cross-functionally (marketing, product, operations) to create tailored programs, promotions, and activations that resonate with specialty customers, • Represent goodr at trade shows, field visits, and specialty industry events to strengthen relationships and drive business growth (~10% travel), • Implement and manage Salesforce tracking for specialty accounts to improve visibility, pipeline management, and performance reporting, • Share specialty channel insights with senior leadership to inform broader retail and sales strategies, • This role is in the Sales team and will report directly to the SVP of Sales & Retail Marketing, • Perform other related duties as assigned ABOUT THE IDEAL CANDIDATE • May or may not have a degree...we don't care (bonus points for Basset Hound Science or Dinosaur Law), • 7+ years of sales experience in consumer packaged goods (CPG), • At least 5+ years working directly with specialty retail accounts (running, outdoor, boutique fashion, surf, ski, etc.), • Proven experience building and executing specialty account strategies that drive growth and scale, • Track record of standing up new processes, tools, or playbooks for account management and sales, • Salesforce experience is a MUST, • Bonus points if you've dabbled in Netsuite or Asana, • Skilled in building strong retailer relationships with specialty partners, • Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking wizardry, • Known for being a master at communication and coaching, • Leading is your middle name, • Strong grasp of specialty retail strategy and CPG best practices, with bonus points for sports/outdoor categories, • Comfortable tracking and reporting on sales metrics and KPIs to measure performance and drive decisions, • Willing and excited to travel (~10%) for trade shows, field visits, and specialty events, • Loves the work more than a paycheck, • Loves sales and account management!, • Is happy to give away credit to their team, • Loves getting and giving feedback, • Is into personal growth, • Thinks Fun is being great (not partying), • Is proactive and an independent problem solver! (Can you google a question?)
