American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Macon, Georgia. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: ASAP, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, days, • Work in a Level 1 Trauma, teaching hospital within a float pool covering all ICU units including MICU, CCU, CVICU, NICU, PCU, and STICU, • ICU nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:2, PCU ratios are 1:3-4, • 12-hour day shifts from 7A-7P on a 36-hour per week schedule, • Required to work 6 weekend shifts over a 6-week schedule (every other weekend), • Holiday coverage required: must work either 12/24 or 12/25 and either 12/31 or 1/1, • No on-call or call back required, • Epic EMR experience utilized; Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis med dispensing, Phillips monitors, • Travelers may be required to float to all Med/Tele units in addition to all ICUs, • Support staff includes CNA, unit secretary, charge nurse, discharge and resource nurses, 24/7 RT, hospitalist, and intensivist, • Central telemetry unit monitors with RN strip sign-off required, • RNs are responsible for drawing off of CVLs; a PICC team is available, • Orientation includes 1 day facility orientation and 2 days departmental orientation, • Scrub color for RNs is navy blue, • Busy, team-oriented work culture, • First-time travelers will be considered for this position, • RTO requests must be approved by the manager\n \n Requirements\n, • Active GA or compact state RN license, • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required, • Minimum 2 years recent ICU RN experience required, • Must pass an EKG competency exam during onboarding, • Experience in trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, and glucometer use, • Proficiency with common ICU drips including insulin, heparin, narcotic, paralytic, vasopressors, sedation, and cardiac drips, • CCRN certification preferred, • Epic EMR charting experience preferred\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
