Job Description Reporting to the Director of Facilities, the Cleaning Technician is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout and in the immediate vicinity of the facility. This includes general office and support areas, restrooms, break rooms, conference rooms, laboratories, and — most critically — contamination-controlled environments such as cleanrooms used for drug product manufacturing. The role also serves as a flexible team member that will provide support in maintaining, repairing, and improving facility systems and fixed equipment and may provide support to manufacturing, engineering, and scientific teams, as needed. This position offers excellent opportunities for on-the-job training, skill development, and exposure to a regulated biopharmaceutical and medical device environment. This is a position that requires working 100% on site (i.e., no partial remote work) working 8 hours a day between the hours of 7:00 am and 6:00 pm or as agreed by the supervisor. Key Responsibilities: • Perform cleaning, according to defined schedules or as instructed by supervisor, of all facility areas, including but not limited to, offices, hallways, conference rooms, laboratories, cleanrooms, break rooms, restrooms, warehouse, and immediate areas outside the facility, • Disinfect and decontaminate, according to defined schedules or as instructed by supervisor, cleanrooms and other contamination-controlled areas while following strict procedures to minimize microbial, particulate, and/or chemical contamination, • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and consumables, as instructed and notify supervisor when restocking is required, • Maintain, according to defined schedules or as instructed by supervisor, break room amenities by performing activities including but not limited to:, • Clean tables, counters, microwave oven, refrigerator, chairs, tables, floor, • Clean, refill, and maintain coffee machines, water dispensers, and related equipment, including performing routine cleaning cycles, descaling, and preventive maintenance, • Follow all safety, GMP, ISO, and company-specific procedures; complete required documentation (cleaning logs, checklists, etc.) accurately and on time, • Perform or coordinate with suppliers or service providers preventative maintenance, calibrations, and repairs on various equipment as assigned using safe troubleshooting techniques when necessary, • Report any facility, equipment, or safety issues promptly to Management, • Document any significant work performed and maintain activity logs accurately and in a timely manner, • Support facility operational tasks including monitoring mechanical systems such as HVAC, electrical power distribution, and plumbing., • Provide hands-on support to manufacturing, engineering, scientific, and procurement teams, as needed, including:, • Cleaning, packaging, and sterilizing components and materials, • Basic fabrication and/or assembly of prototype parts and fixtures, • Moving materials and equipment within the facility, • Receive, log, and distribute incoming packages when procurement staff is unavailable, • Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), provided by the company, • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while being methodical and consistent in general office and highly controlled environments, • Proactive, detail oriented, and commitment to precisely following written procedures and training, • Ability to read and comprehend, various equipment manuals, instructions, and procedures, • Must be able to navigate in cleanroom environments while adhering to gowning and safety protocols, • Willing to obtain OSHA stacker lift certification, • Basic understanding/knowledge of electric/writing schematics/and circuit knowledge, • Ability to use hand tools and small power equipment, • Comfortable performing repetitive tasks, including standing, bending, lifting (up to 40 lb), and wearing cleanroom garments/PPE for extended periods, • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision, • Team-oriented with willingness to assist colleagues across departments, • Basic computer skills for logging activities and reviewing or drafting documents and procedures, • Positive attitude and eagerness to learn new skills and responsibilities, • Good verbal and written communication skills accompanied with good follow up practices, • Previous cleaning, janitorial, or housekeeping experience, is greatly preferred, • Previous experience in mechanical, building maintenance, and/or medical technical setting, is desired, • Experience working in a cleanroom, GMP, or ISO-regulated environment (pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or similar) is highly desirable but not required — comprehensive training will be provided Education: · High school diploma or some college coursework or technical/vocational training preferred Work Environment: General Office: Typical sedentary office environment with limited noise level. Regular keyboarding and use of standard office equipment Chemical/Biological: Human and animal material, chemical, microbial, and active pharmaceutical/biological ingredients, including inactivated and attenuated vaccines are contained within the facility. Peroxide- and peracid-based and other cleaning materials and supplies. Physical: Position requires lifting and moving supplies and equipment and operating within laboratories, cleanrooms, warehouses, and office environments. Ability to perform repetitive tasks to include standing, bending, lifting (up to 40 lb), and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and cleanroom garments for extended periods.
