Job Description Summary The Warehouse Supervisor reports to the LOGISTEED America, Inc. Assistant Warehouse Manager. This position requires excellent leadership skills along with the ability to monitor workflow, provide focus on inventory control and customer service. Essential Functions OPERATIONS • Meeting established procedures and productivity, safety and quality standards, • Meets attendance & punctuality standards, • Managing assigned area to meet manpower requirements, equipment maintenance, work flow prioritization and daily scheduling., • Auditing all operations to ensure processes are followed according to standard work sheet, including walking through area during and at the end of the assigned shift to a) catch the irregulars on site, b) making sure the team members are following the SOP and rules, • Ensuring associates have appropriate tools to perform their assigned duties, • Collecting of data and reporting of established KPIs, quality reports, audits, material handling equipment reports, site or individual performance tracking and customer required reports, • Managing the Gemba Kanri program within their assigned area of control COMMUNICATIONS • Communicating both orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner, • Communicating effectively both with management and their team EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT • Inspiring and motivating employees to perform at their best through positive encouragement and incentive initiatives SAFETY • Performing tasks safely, • Ensuring area housekeeping requirements are met, • Review labor needs based on daily, weekly and monthly schedules, • Working with all departments, share labor and cross train as required for business needs, • Managing and tracking all assigned material, equipment and company assets as necessary, • Identifying process improvement, cost savings, and implement changes to achieve them TRAINING • Directing, supervising, evaluating, training, and developing employees, including SOP’s, • Managing employee interaction that includes: employee development, one on one coaching, conflict resolution among associates, associates group meetings and trainings., • Participate in application of LUS policies and procedures including but not limited Attendance and Punctuality policy, progressive corrective action, and other. COLLABORATION • Support internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to safety, compliance, HR. finance and customers., • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed., • Ability to travel if needed for business necessity, • Should be available on a rotating basis for holiday, night and weekend shifts to meet required customer/business needs., • Perform other duties as assigned by Manager Non -Essential Functions • Perform other duties as assigned Competencies • Strategic Thinking, • Problem Solving/Analysis, • Project Management, • Organized / ability to prioritize, • Communication Proficiency, • Personal Effectiveness/Credibility, • Multi-tasking with conflicting priorities Supervisory Responsibility • Responsible for daily supervision of warehouse associates for assigned department Preferred Qualifications, Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities and Working Conditions Previous Work Experience • Minimum of 1 year fast-paced logistics industry or manufacturing environment experience, • 1 year supervisor experience, • Warehouse/Distribution/Manufacturing/Logistics work experience Education and Certifications • High School diploma or general education degree (GED), • Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Word and Excel - preferred, • Equivalent work experience will be considered Experience Requirements and Preferences • Bachelor’s degree preferred, • Strong attention to detail, • Ability to understand any and all safety requirements and regulations (OSHA), • Ability to make decisions in an objective manner, • Strong written and verbal communication skills, • Organizational, people, and interviewing skills, • Conflict resolution skills, • Staff management; requires flexibility and understanding that all staff may be required to perform duties outside their normal area of expertise to meet the mission and goal of the warehouse (facility management i.e. maintenance, sanitations, etc.), • Ability to respond to situations in a prompt and professional manner, • Proven professional and sound judgment in the management of difficult and / or sensitive matters, • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers, • Ability to work in multiple systems and ability to input and retrieve data are a must, • Must be available for night and weekend shifts, • Ability to input and retrieve computer/technical/scanner data are a must, • Must be able to read, write and count, • Working knowledge of 5S and Lean Concepts, • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Work & Excel, • Experience with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) is a plus, • Energetic and highly motivated to succeed, • Proven strong business acumen, • Fluency in English, • Must pass drug and criminal background checkAdditional Eligibility Qualifications, • Ability to read, analyze and interpret pick/selection/put-away orders, • Ability to respond effectively to time sensitive work orders While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk or sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, bend crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT Eighty-five percent of work time may be spent in various warehouse or other locations where the environment is not climate controlled (hot and cold seasonally).
