How You Fit In Title: Senior Manager of Advancement Operations Location: San Francisco Bay Area or Los Angeles preferred; candidates must be based on the U.S. West Coast Salary Range: $105,000–$130,000 Reports To: Director of Advancement You are a highly capable development operations leader who brings strong project management, systems thinking, and fundraising operations experience to a fast-growing, mission-driven organization. You thrive in environments where systems are being built and improved—not simply maintained—and you're energized by creating structure that enables strategy. This is a critical role in DJDS's Advancement department, designed for someone who can operate as an independent thinker: making recommendations, building durable systems, and running the engine behind individual and institutional fundraising. You will own our fundraising operations end-to-end, strengthening how we manage data, track relationships, generate insights, and execute with consistency. This position is essential to organizational growth and financial sustainability, ensuring that strong fundraising operations provide the infrastructure, rigor, and reliability required to power scalable frontline fundraising and revenue growth. Who You Are • San Francisco Bay Area or Los Angeles strongly preferred; candidates must be based on the U.S. West Coast and eligible to work in the U.S., • 3–5+ years of experience in development operations, advancement operations, or fundraising operations, • Experience working in small to mid-size nonprofits or social enterprises (approximately $2M–$10M budgets), helping them scale, formalize, or professionalize fundraising operations during a growth phase, • Comfortable supporting both individual and institutional giving functions such as: departmental administration, grants, donor engagement logistics, compliance, events., • Hands-on experience managing a fundraising CRM (Little Green Light, Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, Bloomerang, or similar), including data hygiene, reporting, and workflows, • Familiarity with prospect research tools such as Foundation Directory Online, Instrumentl, WealthEngine, or comparable platforms, • Familiarity with building and using project management tools like ClickUp or Asana, • Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities without heavy oversight, • Confident building and maintaining systems, processes, and documentation, • Solutions-oriented, pragmatic, and able to turn complexity into clear workflows, • Deep knowledge of fundraising best practices, paired with the ability to thoughtfully adapt them to unique organizational contexts., • Mission- and values-aligned, with demonstrated exposure to justice-, equity-, or design-centered work (through professional experience, volunteer work, or lived experience), • Oversee and continuously improve Advancement operations infrastructure, including processes, SOPs, systems, and documentation grounded in fundraising best practices, • Own and manage DJDS's CRM (Little Green Light), including system architecture, data quality, reporting, and ongoing optimization, • Establish and operationalize workflows for a growing major donor program, including prospecting, stewardship, moves management, and portfolio hygiene, • Oversee fundraising technology, including giving platforms, prospect research tools, and project management systems, • Lead donor and funder research efforts, including wealth screenings and prospect research, and maintain high-quality prospect profiles in the CRM., • Manage prospect pipeline and portfolio systems, including protocols that help guide prioritization, pacing, fundraising strategies, and track movement through the pipeline., • Build and maintain dashboards and reports that surface actionable insights for the Advancement team, executive leadership, and organizational decision-making, • Monitor and analyze fundraising activity and performance, translating data into insights needed for effective engagement and resource allocation, • Support grants management (prospect research, feasibility assessments, application support, reporting, and compliance tracking as needed), • Manage department administration and compliance, including acknowledgements, tax receipting, invoicing, pledges, and compliance, and other funder deliverables, • Project-manage donor engagement logistics as needed (events, mailings, communications), • Maintain organized fundraising materials and support drafting or editing collateral as needed, • Act as a key thought partner for Advancement leadership to support planning and execution of fundraising activities across individual giving, corporate giving, impact investing, and private and public grants., • Work cross-functionally with the Executive Director, COO, and CFO to support fundraising strategy, reporting, and compliance, • Collaborate with Finance and Communications to ensure alignment across contributed revenue, messaging, and stewardship, • Support donor-facing activities (events or major touchpoints) on an as-needed basis, • DJDS covers 100% of medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and their children under age 26, with optional coverage for domestic partners, long-term disability, and life insurance, • Paid time off includes vacation (tiered by tenure), sick leave, bereavement, jury duty, and 16 total holidays (12 standard plus 4 flexible/personal days), • Up to 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave supported by state and DJDS supplemental pay Please submit a resume and brief cover letter outlining your interest in the role and alignment with DJDS's mission.
