Epic Ambulatory Systems Analyst Full-Time | Portland/Vancouver Area | Hybrid Salary Range: $88,000 - $132,000 annually Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week, no weekends or holidays Work Model: Hybrid, onsite approximately 1-2 days per week Position Overview Our healthcare client in the Portland/Vancouver area is seeking a hands-on Epic Ambulatory Systems Analyst to join their technology team. This role will support an Epic Garden Plot environment and will be responsible for day-to-day application support, build, optimization, testing, troubleshooting, release support, and provider-facing workflow improvement. This is a great opportunity for an Epic Ambulatory-certified analyst who enjoys being close to the build, working directly with clinicians and operational users, and solving practical workflow challenges. The ideal candidate will bring strong EpicCare Ambulatory build experience, a service-oriented mindset, and the ability to support both routine maintenance and optimization initiatives in a fast-paced specialty practice environment. This is a hands-on individual contributor role, not a project management-focused position. The client is looking for someone who enjoys build, break/fix, workflow optimization, provider support, SmartSets, templates, questionnaires, clinical content, and daily Epic support. Key Responsibilities • Provide advanced support, maintenance, configuration, and optimization for Epic Ambulatory functionality., • Perform hands-on EpicCare Ambulatory build and support, including workflows such as SmartSets, templates, custom questionnaires, preference lists, visit types, clinical content, user settings, and related ambulatory tools., • Partner directly with physicians, clinical staff, operational leaders, and IT team members to understand workflow needs and translate them into practical Epic solutions., • Identify opportunities to improve provider efficiency, clinical documentation, patient throughput, and end-user experience within Epic., • Troubleshoot and resolve break/fix issues, helpdesk tickets, enhancement requests, workflow problems, and application defects within assigned SLAs., • Support Epic upgrade, maintenance, optimization, and release-readiness activities., • Review new Epic release functionality and communicate potential operational impacts, opportunities, and recommended changes to leadership., • Gather requirements, develop specifications, document build decisions, and support application design and workflow improvements., • Develop, validate, and execute application testing, integrated testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing plans., • Maintain system configuration standards, change-control practices, and application documentation., • Create and maintain knowledge base documentation, support guides, tip sheets, and related training materials., • Support end-user training for new hires, providers, operational teams, and other personnel as needed., • Coordinate and maintain appropriate Epic user access, usernames, passwords, and role-based updates for new, existing, and transferred employees., • Participate in rotating after-hours on-call support., • Maintain detailed knowledge of Epic functionality, clinical content, and operational use within an ambulatory environment., • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, privacy, security, and organizational policies., • Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications • Current Epic Ambulatory certification required., • 3-5 years of Epic application analyst experience in a healthcare environment., • Hands-on EpicCare Ambulatory build, support, optimization, and troubleshooting experience., • Strong understanding of ambulatory clinical workflows and how Epic supports provider and care team efficiency., • Experience working directly with physicians, clinical staff, operational users, and non-technical end users., • Experience gathering requirements, developing specifications, testing workflows, documenting decisions, and supporting change control., • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and simply, both verbally and in writing., • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve issues that require independent judgment, creativity, and follow-through., • Ability to work effectively as part of a small, collaborative team while owning individual work independently., • Microsoft Office experience required., • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with patient, clinic, and organizational data., • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or equivalent work experience required. Preferred Qualifications • Experience supporting Epic Garden Plot, Community Connect, or a shared Epic instance strongly preferred., • Experience in an ambulatory specialty practice, surgical group, orthopedic, neurosurgery, or outpatient care environment preferred., • Experience with Epic optimization after a recent go-live preferred., • Experience supporting provider-efficiency initiatives, clinical documentation improvements, and ambulatory workflow optimization preferred., • Familiarity with MyChart, Cadence, Prelude, Resolute, clinical documentation, ordering workflows, or revenue cycle touchpoints preferred., • Experience working in a lean IT environment where analysts support multiple areas and wear multiple hats preferred. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a hands-on Epic Ambulatory analyst who genuinely enjoys build, optimization, issue resolution, and daily application support. This person should be comfortable working in a small team environment and directly supporting providers, clinical teams, and operational users.
