Job DescriptionDescription: CERAMIC TILE INSTALLER MADISON, WI We are seeking a qualified Ceramic Tile Installer for residential tile installations in Dane County and surrounding areas. This position is responsible for all aspects of tile installations. Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer Duties: • Pick up installation paperwork and materials at warehouse, • Drive to various job sites, • Carry tools to job site, • Carry product to job site, • Ventilate the work area as much as possible, • Move and replace furniture, • Tear out old, • Clean up the area immediately after the old one is removed. Prepare area for tile installation, • Make sure area is smooth; Apply plywood or Masonite and waterproofed, if needed, • Inspect surface to be covered to ensure that it is firm and dry, • Cut and shape tile to fit around obstacles and into odd spaces/corners, • Use hand and power cutting tools, • Mix, apply, and spread plaster, concrete, mortar, cement, mastic, glue or other adhesives to form a bed for the tile to adhere to using a brush or trowel, • Align, straighten, and level tile using levels, squares, straightedges, and/or spacers, • Let completely set; dry, • Finish and dress the joints with grout, • High School Diploma is required; some college preferred, • Must show proficient knowledge of tile installation; 3-5 years minimum, • Must possess the proper tools for installation, • Reliable transportation, • Must have a valid driver’s licenseRequirements: Required Knowledge and Skills Core Competencies • Customer service -- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing exceptional customer service, • Mechanical -- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance., • Production and Productivity -- Knowledge of production processes, quality control and other techniques for maximizing the effective installation., • Time Management -- Managing one’s own time and the time of others, • Equipment Selection -- Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job properly., • Reading Comprehension -- Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents., • Active Listening -- Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate and not interrupting at inappropriate times., • Interpersonal Skills – relates to others, listens for understanding, asks questions for clarity, and conducts conversations with customers and employees that build credibility and lead to positive business results, • Mechanical Aptitude – ability to properly use tools and equipment safely and effectively in order to carry out the duties, • Work Standards – ability to display positive work habits to include getting to work on time, meeting deadlines, using time effectively on the job, minimizing the number of missed workdays and displaying a high level of adherence to policies and procedures, and producing a quality installation for customer satisfaction, • Abilities -, • Ability to push, pull, lift and carry materials weighing up to 70 lbs. frequently, • Ability to push, pull, lift and carry materials weighing up to 100 lbs. occasionally, • Ability to retain bending and/or squatting position consistently (60% of the time), • Medical insurance, • Dental insurance, • Short Term Disability/Long Term Disability, • Life Insurance, • 401K Program, • Flexible Benefits Plan, • Paid vacation and sick leave SUB-CONTRACTORS WELCOME!!!!!
