Job Description ABOUT THE ROLE The Field Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all field operations related to precast concrete installation, ensuring projects are executed safely, on time, and within budget. This role manages jobsite coordination, including layout, sequencing, equipment, and personnel, while working closely with internal teams and general contractors. Reporting to the Field Operations Manager or Vice President of Construction Services, the Superintendent plays a critical role in driving project success from start to finish. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, company-paid disability and life insurance, wellness incentives, paid holidays, PTO, flexible spending accounts, HSA options, a 401(k) with profit sharing, access to Nice Healthcare, employee assistance resources, pet insurance, and additional voluntary coverage such as critical illness, accident, and hospital indemnity plans. • Health and family care leave is available to both union and non-union employees., • Lead and supervise all field operations for precast installation projects, • Provide direction and support to Field Foremen and field crews, • Coordinate daily with dispatch for load sequencing and delivery schedules, • Ensure proper layout, alignment, and elevations using survey equipment, • Promote and enforce safety standards, company policies, and OSHA compliance, • Collaborate with general contractors and other trades to maintain workflow, • Plan and manage installation sequencing based on site conditions and production schedules, • Source and coordinate equipment, materials, and resources to meet project timelines, • Complete required documentation, including PCI paperwork and NCRs The ideal candidate is an experienced field leader with deep knowledge of precast construction and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency. They are highly organized, proactive, and confident in managing crews, coordinating with multiple stakeholders, and making real-time decisions on the jobsite. This individual leads by example, communicates effectively, and takes full ownership of project performance from planning through completion. IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE • Minimum 5+ years of precast erection experience preferred (or 10+ years of general construction experience), • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred, • OSHA 30 certification required (or willingness to obtain), • Strong knowledge of precast systems, erection processes, and construction practices, • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, crane charts, and plans, • Experience with survey equipment and jobsite layout, • Proven leadership and team management skills, • Strong planning, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, • Excellent communication and organizational skills, • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 75 lbs occasionally and frequent bending, climbing, kneeling, twisting, squatting, crawling, and repetitive hand/arm use, • Capable of standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility for extended shifts of up to 12 hours, • Comfortable working at heights using ladders, scaffolding, swing stages, and man lifts frequently, • Ability to work safely in a production or field environment with moderate to high exposure to safety risks and hazards, • Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions, including wet, hot, humid, and cold weather, and outdoors (Depending on location) Wells is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including Veterans and Individuals with Disabilities.
