Job Description Job Title: Aircraft/Mechanical Assembly Technician Pay: $34.18/hour Employment Type: Full-time, Contract / Temporary / Permanent Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Assembly Technician with hands-on mechanical experience to join our team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of using hand and power tools to assemble, repair, and maintain mechanical structures. Experience in measuring, reading scales, following technical drawings, and using wrenches and drills is required. Automotive, aerospace, or manufacturing experience is a plus. Key Responsibilities: • Assemble, install, and repair mechanical components and structures., • Use hand tools, power tools, drills, and wrenches safely and efficiently., • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints., • Measure components accurately using calipers, micrometers, tape measures, or other tools., • Perform minor repairs, adjustments, and modifications as needed., • Ensure work meets quality standards and adheres to safety procedures., • Document work performed and report any discrepancies or issues., • Collaborate with team members to complete projects on schedule. Required Skills / Qualifications: • 2–4+ years of hands-on mechanical or assembly experience., • Proficient with hand and power tools, including drills, wrenches, and riveters., • Ability to measure accurately and read scales., • Experience reading technical drawings, schematics, or blueprints., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality., • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team., • Comfortable performing physical tasks including lifting, bending, crouching, and standing for extended periods. Preferred Skills / Qualifications: • Experience in aerospace, aviation maintenance, automotive repair, or manufacturing., • Familiarity with sheet metal, composites, or structural assemblies., • FAA Airframe Certification or equivalent (for aerospace roles). Physical Requirements: • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs individually, up to 50 lbs with a team lift., • Ability to kneel, squat, stand, climb ladders, or work on platforms as required., • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity., • Ability to maintain focus on detailed work for extended periods. Tool Requirements • All tools must be shadowed in a lockable toolbox., • Tools must be uniquely etched, color-marked, or both. For tools without etching, colors will be assigned by QA for identification., • Ensure no FOD (Foreign Object Debris) is present in the toolbox., • All measuring devices must be marked “For Reference Only.”, • No crimpers, solder irons, torque wrenches, pressure gauges, or weighing scales., • No calibrated equipment., • No automotive wire strippers. Screwdrivers • Phillips: #0–#3 (various lengths), • Flathead: #1 & #2 (various widths/lengths), • Ratcheting screwdrivers – stubby & long (Optional), • Standard box/open-end: 5/32” – 1 1/4” (7/8” for largest sufficient), • 5/16” – 7/8”, • 5/16” ratcheting wrench (Optional), • 1/4” and 3/8” drive ratchets, • Sockets – Deep well & standard:, • 1/4” drive: 1/4”–3/8”, • 3/8” drive: 3/8”–7/8”, • Socket extensions up to 6” (Optional but recommended), • Flushcut pliers, • Longnose / Needle-nose pliers, • Vise-Grips (standard / needle-nose), • Brass hammer, • Mallet hammer, • Scribe set (straight, hook, 90°ree;), • Magnifying glass (optional), • Apex holder (optional), • Deburr tool, • Uni-bit set: 1/8” – 1/2”, • Rotary file set, • Punch set, • Centering punch (automatic optional) – mandatory, • Cordless drill (optional, recommended), • 90°ree; drill for threaded bits (optional), • 1/4” air drill – drill bits provided, • Air nozzle, • Decimal scales: 6” and 12”, 18” scale, • Flashlight / mirror, • Combination square, • 50’ air hose, • SAE Allen wrench set: 1/16” – 3/8”, • Rivet sets: 3/32”, 1/8”, 5/32”, 3/16”, • Files, • 25’ tape measure, • 90°ree; die grinder, • Digital/dial calipersCompany DescriptionJohnson Service Group, Inc.
