THE OPPORTUNITY (POSITION OVERVIEW) As a Director of Learning Support you will be responsible for the development, training, and implementation of curriculum, instruction, assessment measures, and professional learning initiatives. You will collaborate with other members of the Learning Support Team in order to ensure growth and success at each school and program. You will support schools (both established and newly developed), their school leaders and staff with training, on-boarding, data analysis, instructional practices and curriculum implementation. You will support the implementation of, but not limited to, Personalized/Individual learning, Project-Based Learning (PBL), and Social and Emotional Learning (SEL). As a leader in iCA, you will ensure that the mission, vision, values and philosophy of iLEAD Schools is clearly understood and carried out. This position will require occasional travel for school site and educational program support, team building, collaborations, company events, professional development training, and conferences. WHAT YOU WILL DO (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES) Training & Professional Development * Assists the School/Site Leadership team with the planning of training and leads the development and implementation of the plan. * Attend and collaborate in Learning Support Team meetings to support the iLEAD model. * Participate in the design and implementation of professional development initiatives for all clients. * Represent the Learning Support Team and iCA with all clients and other community contacts. * Work to keep knowledge and understanding up to date on current products, practices, and initiatives. * Attend and participate at collaboratives, Leadership Connections, conferences and team buildings. * Present at conferences when applicable. * Participate in iCA activities such as team-building, leadership coaching, and cross-departmental collaboratives as needed. * Identify areas of interest and need where you can develop personal leadership initiatives, which you will develop and implement in order to make the organization stronger. Curriculum, Design, and Implementation * Support all schools and school/site leaders with the implementation of the iLEAD Model. * Mentor new and experienced iCA member school/site leaders in their understanding, support, and supervision of PBL, including project planning and tracking. * Design professional development that supports a healthy PBL model using the iLEAD Design Guide. * Provide model lessons in classrooms. * Assist with curriculum implementation, project analysis, including project protocols and debriefs that will lead to an ever-improving iLEAD model. * Collaboratively plan and host trainings, professional development presentations and team building opportunities for staff. * Assist schools with implementing academic assessments, analyzing data and utilizing the data to inform instruction. * Work collaboratively with the Learning Support Team to set team goals, create trainings and training calendars, share curriculum resources. Data, Reporting, and Assessments * Perform a key role in helping design and monitor systems for schools, particularly those at risk of not meeting minimum accountability standards. * Guide, develop and implement systems to boost state testing and data results. * Monitor effectiveness of systems and report results back to school/site leaders and facilitators. * Work with school/site leaders and staff to strategize efforts to improve state testing and other learner outcome data. * Facilitate and monitor data protocols with school/site leaders and teaching teams. * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of state and federal testing and accountability systems. * Analyze multiple sources of data to pinpoint areas of concern in order to create an improvement plan and accountability system. * Participate in meetings and lead initiatives related to reporting, data and assessments. Leadership * Collaborate with school/site directors in maintaining a school-wide focus on high standards of academic performance and social/emotional growth. * Develop and maintain relationships with school/site and department leaders and other staff that facilitate high levels of trust and collaboration * Maintain a professional profile that contributes to iCA’s position on the forefront of effective and innovative educational practices. * Develop internal and external professional and collaborative relationships with vendors, consultants, staff, community and other partnership opportunities for successful partnerships. * Follow and actively participate in the development of state and county school guidelines, policies and procedures as it pertains to academic instruction and development. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Communicating with others to exchange information. (In Person/Telephone/Computer) * Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing. * Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions. * When needed to support a school or education program, must have the ability to travel by public transit as well as operate a vehicle for self-transportation purposes between worksites. * Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned. * May encounter outdoor elements: high (>90)/low (<60) temperatures, precipitation and/or wind. * Ability to work in situations involving the need to make informed and quick decisions. * Ability to supervise/manage workers and delegate as needed in project management situations. * Reading detailed documentation and analyzing data sets. * Writing professionally, both by hand and utilizing computer software. * Speaking in public settings including making public presentations to large and small groups. * Dealing and navigating professionally through high-stress situations. WHAT YOU WILL BRING (QUALIFICATIONS) * Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required. * Valid CA Credential and/or Required CA License * Minimum of 6-10 years of teaching in a classroom environment is preferred. * Experience in school administration and curriculum development is preferred. APPENDIX DIRECTOR OF STEAM ● Supporting facilitators with STEAM-oriented instruction utilizing project-based learning methods. ● Develop, implement and evaluate the STEAM curriculum and instructional programs for the schools, integrating science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics, in accordance with academic standards and goals. ● Attend professional development and training related to STEAM program and methodologies. ● Employs a variety of instructional techniques, instructional media, and performance assessments. ● Uses technology to promote learning, creativity, and collaboration. ● Organizes, develops, and coordinates special STEAM events, activities and curriculum. ● Coaches facilitators on STEAM initiatives and instructional best practices in the areas of STEAM. ● Serves as a liaison to prospective or current STEAM vendors, to determine the best resources, options and innovations to optimize student learning. ● Initiates new programs that support the vision of STEAM in iLEAD schools. ● Foster partnerships with local businesses, organizations, and higher education institutions to provide STEAM opportunities and resources for learners. iLEAD California is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to fostering diversity within its staff. iCA promotes equal opportunity for all employees and applicants.
