Job Description Aim High Leadership Center Four is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Assistant Preschool Teacher. This vital role supports the Lead Teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and educationally rich environment for our scholars, ages 3-5. We seek candidates who are deeply committed to early childhood education and professional growth. Key Responsibilities Classroom and Instructional Support * Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum and daily classroom routine. * Actively engage with scholars during lessons, activities, and free play, demonstrating a genuine love of learning and curiosity. * Support small group activities and one-on-one instruction, ensuring all scholars receive individualized attention. * Assist in setting up and breaking down learning stations, preparing materials, and ensuring the classroom is organized, clean, and safe. * Demonstrate a willingness to learn and implement best practices based on established frameworks, including Article 47, CLASS, ECERS, and ELOF (Early Learning Outcomes Framework). Scholar Care and Safety * Ensure the safety and well-being of all scholars at all times, closely following all school policies and licensing regulations. * Support scholars with personal care needs, including assisting with toileting and diapering as needed, maintaining strict hygiene protocols. * Maintain physical stamina and flexibility, including the ability to bend, lift (up to 40 lbs.), and comfortably get down to a scholar's eye level to connect and engage. * Identify and report any immediate safety concerns or signs of neglect/abuse to the Lead Teacher and Administration. Professionalism and Teamwork * Maintain exemplary attendance and punctuality as a non-negotiable requirement of the position, ensuring consistent classroom coverage and reliability. * Uphold the highest standards of professionalism when interacting with scholars, families, and all staff members. * Demonstrate a strong ability to work in a team and collaborate effectively with the Lead Teacher and other colleagues to achieve common educational goals. * Actively participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities. * Be open to and proactively seek constructive feedback to continuously improve classroom management, engagement strategies, and overall pedagogy. Qualifications * High school diploma or equivalent required; CDA or Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) preferred. * Prior experience working with preschool-aged children (ages 3-5) in a formal setting is highly desirable. * Must meet all background clearance and health requirements required by local licensing regulations. * Demonstrated ability to be reliable, responsible, and discreet when handling confidential information. * Must be fluent in English.
