Trusted by leading AI labs, startups, and global enterprises, CoreWeave combines superior infrastructure performance with deep technical expertise to accelerate breakthroughs and turn compute into capability. Founded in 2017, CoreWeave became a publicly traded company (Nasdaq: CRWV) in March 2025. Learn more at You'll Do: Our Data Center Facilities team is at the forefront of the shift to the Intelligence Age, re-engineering the physical layer to support the unprecedented power and thermal demands of next-generation AI hardware, such as NVIDIA's H100 and Blackwell architectures. We are a high-impact, cross-functional group of technical experts dedicated to solving complex infrastructure challenges, from transitioning suites to 80kW+ per-rack densities to implementing advanced liquid-cooling methodologies. In this role, you will collaborate with MEP consultants and operational stakeholders to manage multi-million-dollar retrofits, ensuring our physical infrastructure remains a catalyst—not a bottleneck—for global AI ambitions. We thrive on technical precision and mission-critical reliability, building the foundation for the next era of computing. About the role: • As our Staff, Data Center Augmentation Engineer, you will be the bridge between our current infrastructure and the future of AI. You will lead the engineering efforts to upgrade, expand, and optimize our data center footprint to support high-density AI workloads. This isn't just about keeping the lights on—it's about re-engineering the power and cooling envelopes to accommodate the next generation of compute.Who You Are:, • Expansion Coordination: Lead the technical planning and execution of data center augmentations and retrofits, where we are adding load into existing spaces., • High-Density Design: Work with the design and capacity teams to complete the design and planning for power expansions. and oversee the implementation of power and cooling solutions specifically for AI hardware., • Infrastructure Strategy: Evaluate existing electrical and mechanical capacities to determine the feasibility of 50kW–100kW+ rack densities., • Vendor & Project Management: Coordinate with MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) consultants, general contractors, and hardware vendors to ensure projects are delivered on time and within "mission-critical" tolerances., • Risk Mitigation: Conduct Method of Procedure (MOP) and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) reviews to ensure augmentations do not disrupt existing live operations., • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field., • Experience: 10+ years in Mission Critical Operations (Data Centers, Hospitals, or Semiconductor Plants)., • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of UPS systems, backup generators, and switchgear., • Experience with advanced cooling methodologies (CRAH, Chilled Water, Liquid Cooling)., • Familiarity with Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools., • Project Leadership: Proven track record of managing multi-million dollar infrastructure build-outs or retrofits., • Ability to travel approximately 30% to data center locations globally.Preferred: (if applicable), • Communication: The ability to effectively convey complex Data Center power and cooling requirements to diverse operational stakeholders., • AI Hardware Familiarity: Demonstrated understanding of the spatial, power, and thermal management requirements for high-density AI accelerators (e.g., NVIDIA H100s/B200s or comparable architectures)., • You love to solve complex "mission-critical" puzzles, like retrofitting live infrastructure to meet the massive power and cooling demands of the AI era without disrupting operations., • You're curious about the future of hardware, specifically how emerging technologies like liquid cooling and high-density rack architectures (50kW–100kW+) will redefine data center design., • Be Curious at Your Core, • Act Like an Owner, • Empower Employees, • Deliver Best-in-Class Client Experiences The base salary range for this role is $177,000 to $237,000. The starting salary will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and the market location. We strive for both market alignment and internal equity when determining compensation.
