This hands-on role will be responsible for developing factory layouts, manufacturing cells, workflows, tooling, fixtures, work instructions, routers, build books, and production processes for a new manufacturing area. The ideal candidate will have strong manufacturing and industrial engineering experience, Lean Manufacturing knowledge, CAD and GD&T familiarity, and the ability to independently coordinate tooling, equipment, facilities, production flow, and cross-functional implementation activities from initial concept through production readiness. \n \n The selected candidate will be responsible for: \n\n • Planning, developing, analyzing, and implementing factory layouts and manufacturing work cells\n, • Developing space requirements and material flow to reduce bottlenecks, waste, and unnecessary movement\n, • Establishing efficient production workflows for new and existing products\n, • Supporting the layout and setup of a new manufacturing area\n, • Coordinating closely with Facilities and Engineering during installation and buildout activities\n, • Developing and maintaining production methods and manufacturing cell configurations\n, • Creating and maintaining routers, build books, Standard Operating Procedures, and manufacturing documentation\n, • Developing work instructions for assembly, production, overhaul, and repair activities\n, • Planning and coordinating acquisition of required equipment, tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing resources\n, • Supporting selection and implementation of production tooling and light manufacturing equipment\n, • Developing and maintaining manufacturing production standards\n, • Reviewing engineering drawings for manufacturability\n, • Providing Design for Manufacturability feedback to Engineering\n, • Writing or supporting Engineering Change Orders as required\n, • Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical manufacturing problems\n, • Supporting investigation and resolution of test failures\n, • Witnessing and evaluating acceptance testing to verify product performance and test procedure accuracy\n, • Researching, designing, and testing new tooling, machinery, and automated systems\n, • Identifying opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, quality, throughput, ergonomics, and efficiency\n, • Applying Lean Manufacturing principles to eliminate waste and improve production flow\n, • Developing manufacturing Bills of Material based on Engineering Bills of Material\n, • Coordinating with equipment manufacturers and material suppliers regarding installation, repairs, tooling, and procurement\n, • Supporting installation and startup of manufacturing equipment and production resources\n, • Working with technicians, machinists, suppliers, Engineering, Quality, Facilities, and Operations\n, • Supporting configuration-controlled manufacturing processes within a regulated environment\n, • Performing internal manufacturing and process audits as required\n, • Supporting new-product industrialization and production readiness activities\n, • Helping establish manufacturing processes for products containing mechanical, electrical, and electronic content\n, • Supporting fixture design and implementation for assembly and test operations\n, • Supporting electrical test equipment, pneumatic equipment, hydraulic equipment, and other manufacturing tools as applicable\n, • Identifying future opportunities for automation based on production volume and business requirements\n, • Providing hands-on manufacturing engineering support on the production floor\n, • Managing multiple engineering and implementation priorities with minimal supervision\n, • Performing other manufacturing engineering duties as assigned\n\n \n The selected candidate will also possess: \n\n • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field required\n, • 4 to 6 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering role preferred\n, • Experience developing factory layouts and manufacturing cells required\n, • Experience planning workflow, material flow, and production space utilization required\n, • Experience establishing manufacturing processes for new products preferred\n, • Experience creating routers, build books, work instructions, and SOPs required\n, • CAD experience required\n, • Creo or equivalent CAD experience preferred\n, • Strong familiarity with GD&T drawing standards required\n, • Lean Manufacturing experience required\n, • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies required\n, • Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturability principles preferred\n, • Experience reviewing engineering drawings for manufacturability required\n, • Experience developing or supporting tooling and fixtures required\n, • Experience coordinating equipment installation or production area setup preferred\n, • Experience working closely with Facilities during manufacturing area buildout preferred\n, • Mechanical aptitude required\n, • Experience troubleshooting mechanical or electrical manufacturing issues preferred\n, • Familiarity with electronics and electrical circuits preferred\n, • Experience with PLC programming or robotics a plus\n, • Knowledge of machining and material properties preferred\n, • CNC or machine shop exposure a plus\n, • Experience working with tooling, fixtures, and new-part setup preferred\n, • Experience within aerospace, defense, medical device, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment strongly preferred\n, • Experience with configuration-controlled manufacturing environments preferred\n, • Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing standards and requirements preferred\n, • AS9100 familiarity preferred\n, • AS9100 Quality Management System auditing experience a plus\n, • FAA and/or EASA certification experience a plus\n, • Experience working with technicians, machinists, suppliers, and cross-functional engineering teams required\n, • Strong project ownership and self-sufficiency required\n, • Ability to independently drive manufacturing implementation activities with minimal supervision\n, • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills required\n, • Strong written and verbal communication skills required\n, • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing tooling evaluation, measurement equipment, fixtures, documentation, and hands-on manufacturing support\n, • Ability to visually review engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, manufacturing
