Job Description Provost & Pritchard have been working in the water, wastewater and stormwater system modeling and master planning arena for over 20 years. Our work in this area centers on modeling utility systems for the purposes of understanding infrastructure needs for both current projects and long-range planning efforts. Provost & Pritchard is offering opportunities for an associate civil engineer with a diversity of experience working on water, sewer, stormwater and recycled water infrastructure hydraulic modeling and master planning projects for public agencies or private developers. The selected candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to build relationships and work closely with clients and work in multidisciplinary project teams. The ideal candidate will have experience working on feasibility studies and performing hydraulic calculations of varying complexity with the ability to solve problems independently and in a team environment. Candidates must show an understanding and desire to grow in knowledge of municipal infrastructure engineering and be able to apply their knowledge in a practical manner. We work with clients ranging from large cities to very small unincorporated communities throughout the state of California. Duties • Water, sewer, stormwater, and recycled water infrastructure hydraulic modeling, • Hydraulic calculations, • Feasibility studies, • Working closely with clients, • Working on multidisciplinary teams Qualifications • Must hold an active California PE license or licensed in another state and can obtain CA license within 12 months of hire, • 5-8 years of experience working on hydraulic modeling projects, • Excellent written and oral communication skills, • Required experience with:, • Hydraulic analysis (pressure and gravity systems), • Geographic Information System software (ArcGIS), • Innovyze or Bentley hydraulic analysis software (both pressure and gravity systems), • Preparing clear and concise technical reports, summarizing results of modeling analyses, • Beneficial but not required experience with:, • Master planning recommendations, including preparing Capital Improvements Plans, • Distribution system analysis on systems with multiple pressures zones or interconnections to other systems, • Collection systems that have multiple drainage basins and/or drainage subbasins, • Extended period simulations and other advanced types of model simulations (i.e. water quality, or transient analysis), • Municipal infrastructure design, • Calibrating collection system models (dry and wet weather flows) and distribution models (steady state and extended period), a plusCompany DescriptionAt Provost & Pritchard Consulting Group, we transform concepts into practical and sustainable solutions, enhancing the infrastructure of various landscapes and communities across California.
