You will playa key role inanalyzing andpreparing financialreports, participatingin system/process improvements, and providingcritical insightinto financialresults and operationaltrends. Job Title:Insurance Senior Accountant Location:Onsite Clearwater, Florida (Highpoint/ICOT/Gateway area) Essential Duties & Responsibilities • Compile and analyze financial data for general ledger entries and business transactions., • Prepare NAIC quarterly and annual filings, and reinsurance settlement statements., • Understand and accurately record earned, assumed, and ceded premiums on financial statements., • Calculate and file quarterly premium taxes across multiple states., • Allocate expenditures, encumbrances, receipts, and receivables as scheduled., • Perform statistical, variance, and ratio analyses; deliver narrative management reports explaining trends and results., • Conduct cash and intercompany account reconciliations, manage bank reconciliations, and ACH setups., • Assess cash flow needs for various business units., • Prepare and interpret balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and other financial documentation for management., • Audit contracts, vouchers, and orderssubstantiate individual transactions., • Monitor and enforce compliance with GAAP, Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP), and internal company policies., • Identify and correct errors or inconsistencies in reports and entries., • Support the implementation, documentation, and improvement of accounting systems and controls, with a focus on automation., • Design and maintain pro formas for contracts and profitability analysis., • Make accounting recommendations regarding reserves, assets, and expenditures., • Prepare and file federal, state, and local reports and tax returns., • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding client, company, and personnel information., • Demonstrate commitment to company mission and values; adhere to attendance standards., • Perform additional duties as assigned. Required Qualifications • Minimum 4 years of progressive accounting experience., • At least 2 years of insurance industry experience (including Accident & Health or P&C)., • Minimum 2 years of direct statutory (STAT) accounting work., • Minimum 4 years of GAAP accounting experience., • Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting (required)., • LOMA or a relevant insurance designation is a plus. Skills & Competencies • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills., • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities., • Detail oriented; adept at multi-tasking and independently prioritizing., • Highly task oriented, deadline-driven, and able to work autonomously., • Advanced working knowledge of Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis)., • Proficient in MS Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook., • Experience with QuickBooks is a plus., • Familiarity with commission reporting software (APL, Clearwater Analytics), FSI Oasis, Premium Tax software, and Enrollment 123 is helpful. Physical/Environmental Requirements • Work performed in an office environment., • Frequent use of computers, phones, and standard office equipment; may involve repetitive motions (typing, data entry, vision monitoring)., • Occasional bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping, and lifting up to 30lbs., • Active customer and employee communication; data entry often performed while on the telephone.
