Job DescriptionJob Title: Electrician Technician Job Description This role focuses on performing electrical installations and related work on large, high-profile new commercial construction projects in the Jacksonville, Florida area, including major healthcare facilities. You will assemble, install, and wire electrical systems, apparatus, and fixtures using hand and power tools, with a strong emphasis on conduit work and reading blueprints. The position requires working full-time on active construction sites, collaborating with other trades, and delivering high-quality work with minimal supervision. Responsibilities • Assemble, install, and wire electrical systems, apparatus, and fixtures on new commercial construction projects using hand and power tools., • Perform extensive conduit and EMT work, including accurately bending and running conduit and getting out of walls cleanly and efficiently., • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and drawings to plan and execute electrical installations., • Install fuse boxes, panels, and other electrical components in accordance with project specifications and applicable codes., • Pull wire, make terminations, and wire up panels, ensuring secure and organized connections., • Perform electrical troubleshooting on systems and components as needed during construction., • Work with high voltage and various electrical components safely and in compliance with standards., • Use basic hand tools and a cordless drill to complete daily tasks and installations., • Maintain and use your own everyday electrical tools required for commercial construction work., • Follow all site safety rules and wear required PPE, including hard hat, safety glasses, safety gloves, steel-toed boots, high-visibility vest or shirt, and appropriate work pants., • Arrive on site by 6:45 a.m. each workday to be prepared for a 7:00 a.m. start and work a full 5-day, 40-hour workweek as project demands require., • Collaborate with other electricians and trades on site to coordinate work and meet project deadlines., • For top installers, work independently with little to no supervision and oversee a crew of helpers when needed, ensuring quality and productivity., • Ensure all work complies with relevant electrical codes and project specifications.Essential Skills, • At least 7 years of commercial new construction electrical experience, with recent experience within the last year., • Proficiency in bending and running conduit and EMT, including complex layouts and installations., • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings., • Hands-on experience with wiring, terminations, panels, and electrical components on commercial projects., • Experience with electrical troubleshooting in a construction environment., • Familiarity with high voltage work and safe handling of related components., • Capability to perform all phases of electrical work with minimal supervision on new construction sites., • Ability to work full-time, 5 days per week, for approximately 40 hours, with consistent punctuality., • Reliable transportation to travel to and from job sites in the Jacksonville area., • Ownership and daily use of standard electrical hand tools and a cordless drill., • Commitment to safety practices and consistent use of required PPE on active construction sites.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • 8+ years of new commercial construction electrical experience is strongly preferred., • Experience working in healthcare environments, such as hospitals, is valued., • Familiarity with NEC codes and their application in commercial construction projects., • Proven ability for top installers to work independently and oversee a crew of helpers., • Demonstrated experience performing all phases of electrical work, including bending and running conduit, pulling wire, reading blueprints, wiring panels, and completing terminations., • Comfort working on large, complex, and high-profile commercial and healthcare construction projects.Why Work Here? Work Environment You will work on new commercial construction jobsites throughout the Jacksonville, Florida area, including large healthcare facilities. The environment includes both indoor and outdoor settings, and you will work in varying weather conditions, from hot to cold, as projects continue through all seasons. Standard hours are approximately 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with an expectation to be on site by 6:45 a.m. each day. The work is hands-on and physically active, involving regular use of basic hand tools, cordless drills, and other electrical tools in a busy construction setting. Personal protective equipment is mandatory, including a hard hat, safety glasses, safety gloves, steel-toed boots, high-visibility vest or shirt, and durable work pants, reflecting a strong safety culture on site. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Jacksonville, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
