A major client of ours has a need for a Legal Word Processor for their Garden City, NY location. This is a permanent role. Summary: Enhances attorney and staff effectiveness by providing word processing and marketing support. Requires an associate’s degree or its equivalent and 5 or more years of related experience. Essential Functions and Duties: • Provide Firm-wide high-level word processing support, • Coordinate handling of all assignments with other word processors, • Respond to a high volume of requests for assistance; communicate effectively and promptly, • Maintain organized and updated client mailing and marketing lists; coordinate Firm mailings, • Work on projects requiring advanced Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and desktop publishing skills, • Assist with marketing activities and projects (e.g., articles, press-releases, ads, interviews), • Maintain updated model HIPAA documents, • Assist with publication of bulletins, • Liaise with outside marketing company to distribute marketing materials, • Assist IT department with website projects, • Assume additional responsibilities as required to meet needs of Firm Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Ability to effectively multi-task, meet deadlines and excel in a team atmosphere, • Ability to type at least 65 words per minute with high accuracy rate, • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and desktop publishing programs, • Familiarity with Constant Contact or similar program, • Familiarity with Hummingbird document management system or similar system, • Well-developed interpersonal and client relation skills, • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, • Excellent organizational skills, • Knowledge of traditional and digital methods of dictation, • Ability to work overtime (mornings, evenings and/or weekends) as needed Education and Experience: • Associate’s degree or its equivalent and 5 or more years of related experience
