Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: OR - Operating Room, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 05/11/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 40 hours per week, • Shift: 8 hours, nights, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Nights, 5x8hrs, • Hours: 40 hrs/wk, • Start Date: May 11, 2026, • Length: 13 weeks, • Work setting is a 794-bed, Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center located in Oak Lawn, IL, approximately 45 minutes from Chicago, • Unit is a Surgery Room with 28 beds, including 2 hybrid rooms for CV/Vascular cases, • Approximately 60–75 cases per day across the unit; hybrid rooms see 5–10 cases per day, • Patient population includes outpatient, inpatient, and trauma cases — GSW, stabbings, kidney and heart transplants, donor cases, general, GYN, urology, robotics, vascular, ortho, neuro, and open heart/CABG, • Hybrid room cases include TAVR, AAA, endarterectomies, angiograms, and fistula revisions (adult patients only), • Approximately 20% pediatric cases (open hearts, appendectomy, cholecystectomy); no liver or lung transplants, • Unit participates in Gifts of Hope (organ donation) cases, • OR operates 24/7, 365 days per year; M–F primary hours 0730–2300, with skeleton crew for trauma and urgent cases after 2300, • Weekend hours are Sat–Sun 0700–1700, with skeleton crew after 1700 for trauma and urgent cases only, • This posting is for a Night Shift position with hours of Sun–Thurs 10:45p–7:15a, • Schedule is rotation-based on a 6-week cycle; candidates will be placed where needed and cannot self-schedule, • Weekend rotation: 1 full weekend (Fri/Sat) every 4th week, • On-call required: 3 call shifts per 6-week period; 30-minute response time required; sleeping room available for on-call team members, • No floating required, • EMR: Epic (experience required); IV pump: Alaris; medication dispensing: PyxisRequirements, • Active Illinois (IL) RN license required, • Current BLS certification required, • Minimum 2–3 years of acute care OR experience required; most recent experience must be within the last year, • Ability to scrub and circulate required, • Trauma experience at a Level I or II facility required, • Epic EMR experience required, • Critical care experience preferred, • At least 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN dated within the last year required for consideration, • Candidate's full middle name or initial, date of birth, and last 4 digits of SSN required for considerationAdditional Information, • Orientation includes Day 1 meeting with educators and ANM, login access setup, online modules, and Epic training; Days 2–3 consist of unit orientation, • Department support includes a charge nurse (no patient assignment M–F, available to assist on weekends and evenings), anesthesiologist bedside monitoring, resource nurse, ANM, educators, service line reps, and an Epic super-user, • Holiday coverage required: 1 winter holiday and 1 summer holiday, • Scrubs are provided by the facility, • Parking is free, • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate; no radius rules apply, • First-time travelers are welcome to apply With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
