This travel nursing job offers the opportunity to work with high-acuity patients and cutting-edge cardiac technology while experiencing the vibrant culture and scenic beauty of New Haven.\n \n\nTravel Nurse Job Details\n\n • Location: New Haven, Connecticut 06510\n, • Facility: Level I Trauma Center – Cardiac ICU (CVICU)\n, • Assignment Type: Travel RN Contract\n, • Start Date: January 2, 2026\n, • End Date: April 3, 2026\n, • Contract Length: 13 weeks\n, • Shift: Night shifts, 12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM); options for 3x12 or 4x12 per week\n, • Hours per Week: 36\n, • Guaranteed Hours: Yes\n, • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend\n, • Charting System: Epic EMR\n, • Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,880–$2,020 per week\n\n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n\n, • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Connecticut RN license required; pending license accepted)\n, • Minimum 3 years of recent Cardiac ICU nursing experience\n, • At least 1 year of Level I Trauma Center experience\n, • Proficient in Swan-Ganz monitoring and advanced cardiac equipment\n, • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (CCRN preferred)\n, • Epic charting experience\n, • Previous charge nurse experience\n, • Ability to float to ICU and PCU units as needed\n, • Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)\n, • Professional reference required\n, • Travel nurses only (must reside >75 miles from facility)\n\n\nCVICU RN Responsibilities\n\n, • Provide expert nursing care to adult patients with complex cardiac conditions: post-CABG, valve repairs/replacements, aneurysm repairs, heart/kidney transplants, VAD implantation\n, • Manage high-acuity patients using advanced cardiac devices: ECMO, IABP, Impella, CentriMag, VAD\n, • Perform and monitor Swan-Ganz catheterization, arterial line management, and central line care\n, • Assist with procedures: bronchoscopy, chest tube insertion/removal, sheath removal\n, • Interpret dysrhythmias, ABGs, and manage cardiac/vasoactive drips\n, • Administer blood products, emergency medications, and procedural sedation\n, • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: PT, RT, pharmacy, social services\n, • Maintain infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions\n Planet Healthcare Job ID #436692.
