The Sr. Director, Business Development– DECC is the team lead for Prestige AV & Creative Services' return to the newly renovated Duke Energy Convention Center, reopening January 2026. This position is responsible for the full launch and implementation of Prestige’s AV and Creative Convention Center Management model—bringing over 20 years of experience in the building into a modernized, high-impact structure. As the primary leader of the account, this role oversees the relationships, sales, operations, and support teams, installs internal systems and staff, and delivers a best-in-class onboarding experience for our clients, partners, and internal stakeholders. The Sr. Director will work closely with ASM Global (DECC’s management company), Visit Cincy, and civic leaders to reintroduce Cincinnati to the global meetings and events market. This role is both externally facing and internally strategic, driving revenue, partnerships, and operational excellence. This highly visible role demands confident leadership, exceptional relationship-building, and a deep commitment to quality, accountability, and client satisfaction. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (include, but are not limited to…) • Lead the launch and onboarding of Prestige AV & Creative Services at the renovated DECC., • Translate Prestige’s 20+ years of institutional knowledge into an effective new convention center service model., • Collaborate with leadership developing and deploying the DECC-based Prestige AV & Creative Convention Center Management team., • Serve as the senior-most point of contact for DECC leadership, ASM Global, Visit Cincy, 3CDC, industry groups and key local partners., • Develop and maintain high-value relationships with city and civic leaders, tourism organizations, hotel partners, and industry influencers., • Represent Prestige, ASM Global, and Visit Cincy at local networking events and national conventions., • Attend industry functions, trade shows, and client meetings to promote the DECC and Prestige services., • Collaborate with the corporate Strategy Director and Creative Director to develop a customized proposal format and supporting marketing materials (e.g., RFPs, pricing sheets, look books, renderings, and floorplans)., • Guide and support sales and account teams, while ensuring operational leadership executes Prestige’s standards daily., • Maintain and exceed revenue goals, service standards, and team performance metrics., • Ensure consistent and elevated service execution through hands-on leadership and structured accountability., • Monitor client satisfaction and operational excellence, reporting regularly to Prestige’s executive team., • Attend site checks, pre-convention meetings, and client walkthroughs as needed., • Participate in DECC-led planning and sales meetings, or delegate appropriately to other Prestige leaders with structured follow-up reporting., • Serve as Prestige’s primary participant in executive and sales-focused meetings; operational meetings may be led by the Director of Operations., • Work closely with the DECC Facilities Director of Sales to secure new business, expand confirmed bookings, and retain existing clients., • Identify and maximize venue-specific revenue streams, including AV, labor, and creative services., • Ensure all Prestige branding and marketing materials meet internal brand standards, as well as those of ASM Global and the DECC/city., • Create, manage, and submit the monthly commission report to the DECC, coordinating with the Prestige Accounting team and EOC for final approval., • Deliver recurring reports to venue leadership on performance, event activity, and revenue generation., • Develop and maintain a tracking and management system for all sales opportunities within the DECC using Prestige’s CRM and sales tracking tools. SPECIAL CHARACTERISTICS / KNOWLEDGE: • Must have excellent people skills and executive presence., • Highly skilled in relationship-building across civic, corporate, and hospitality sectors., • Strong understanding of the AV/production industry and the venue partnership business model., • Experienced in launching new or renovated properties., • Strong connection to local and regional industry networks; national visibility a plus., • Able to collaborate across disciplines—sales, operations, production, client services., • Committed to delivering The Prestige Way in every customer interaction and leadership decision., • Organized, persistent, and able to lead in high-profile, fast-paced environments., • Strong understanding of branded sales materials, pricing strategies, and proposal development., • Experience working within corporate brand standards and aligning multiple stakeholder expectations (client, venue, city, corporate)., • Knowledge of financial reporting processes and commission-based reporting workflows., • Proficiency in CRM systems and ability to manage a sales pipeline across a high-volume convention center environment., • Familiarity with rental software platforms such as IntelliEvent, R2, or similar systems used for AV quoting and logistics., • Comfort working in industry-standard tools such as VectorWorks, CAD, and Adobe Creative Suite (in collaboration with Creative team). The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal to moderate during non-event days and moderate to loud during move-in days and event days. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: • 3–5 years in a senior leadership or business development role within a convention center or similar venue, • 7–10 years of experience in audiovisual, live event production, or hospitality industry preferred Education / Training: • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field is preferred, but not required. Equivalent experience will be considered., • General education requirements in the areas of communication, social science, natural science, and humanities provide analytical and communication skills as well as a global perspective of diverse cultures.
