Job Summary As the Area Manager at L&S, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the production labor and will supervise a team of superintendents within a pre-assigned area. General Responsibilities • Supervise a team of superintendents and superintendents in-training and support and evaluate their growth., • Create and implement quality control and accountability protocols for supers’ work., • Identify paperwork issues and guide superintendents in solving those issues., • Manage builder relationships., • Handle escalated builder issues., • Manage dig lists and grounds., • Maintain knowledge of neighborhood statuses., • Carry a small house count to keep trade skills current., • Manage sub crew, low-level accountability, back charges, pay, and accountability., • Manage schedules., • Collaborate with sub recruiters to address sub capacity needs., • Collaborate with other AMs to analyze patterns and trends amongst neighborhoods, builders, sub crews, etc., and apply data-informed practices to improve the quality, efficiency, and delivery of production labor., • Collaborate with other area managers to load balance subs and direct labor., • Assist in resolving low-level material issues., • Approve extras., • Collaborate with the development program to implement the training schedule and assist with accountability of trainee compliance., • As needed, participate in the assessment of knowledge, skills, and understandings of trainees at the “In-training” level., • Tri-trade knowledge: plumbing, electrical, HVAC., • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to maintain relationships and grow people., • Strong written and verbal communication skills., • Strong desire to work as a team with a results-driven approach., • Strong problem-solving skills., • Strong desire to grow and open to feedback., • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment., • Proficient in Unity and ability to teach others how to use it., • Proficient in electronic communication systems., • Strong basic computational skills., • Demonstrated history of recovering back charges and reducing unbilled extras., • Demonstrated ability to handle conflict and achieving an ideal resolution., • Comfortable with conflict., • Demonstrated ability to act with integrity and professionalism., • Medical, dental and vision insurance, • FSA with debit card, • 401(k) employer match 1% for the first 1% contributed and a 50% match for the remaining 5%, • Paid Vacation, • PTO, • Paid Holidays, • Bonus opportunities, • Annualized reviews for merit increases, • Potential for advancement Note: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by an employee in this position.
