Summary Oversee the two CRS managers, an ICILA manager and a Literacy Coordinator. Researches, develops, creates, and implements new adult service concepts supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, with a focus on life skills, social/emotional development, communication, problem solving, safety, recreation, and extensive community inclusiveness. In addition, the Director coordinates with program personnel, clients, families, community partners, post-school service providers, governmental agencies, and employers to execute this work, while ensuring services are developed through a dynamic, person-centered model aligned to evidence-based practices. The Director ensures all staff are provided with the tools needed to implement high-quality programming, and he/she also builds structures for monitoring the quality of implementation against specific accountability measures. Essential Duties • Develops and ensures implementation of dynamic, person-centered client programming across multiple domains, including but not limited to life skills, social/emotional development, communication, problem solving, safety, and recreation., • Identifies and implements processes, procedures, and best practices for providing adult services, aligned to research any evidence-based practices in the field., • Create program policies and procedures for operational purposes in collaboration with other directors and the Vice President of Disability Services., • Monitor and maintain program contracts and billing hours and transfers monthly billing to the finances department., • Enforce policies and procedures and agency protocols to maintain program integrity., • Regularly monitors monthly budget reports for CRS, ICILA, and Literacy programs providing feedback to the Vice President of Disability Services as needed. Takes necessary actions to insure prudent utilization of resources., • Assume intake responsibilities for CRS and ICILA programs maintain quarterly enrollments and attendance., • Responsible for all strategic planning and business goal development to ensure growth and expansion of services aligned to the needs of the people served and broader community of people seeking services., • Ensure proper intake strategies and maintain a percentage of each program that aligns with the budget., • Conduct safety checks to ensure all programs are fully aligned with state rules and regulations., • Develop, monitor, and adjust performance metrics with which to evaluate program services., • Establishes and maintains ongoing communication with current and prospective community partners., • Maintains and builds upon current relationships in the local community in order to secure opportunities for clients., • Recruits, supervises, and evaluates program staff on a regular basis, according to agency policy., • Researches, plans, and participates in networking events., • Collaborates with external and other agency staff to expand client access to a range of vocational training and employment opportunities, with individualized supports, aligned to tenants of the Illinois Employment First Act., • Ensures departmental managers and staff plan and implement ongoing community-based activities for all clients, • Plans, prepares, and conducts professional development and training to agency staff and, when relevant, outside participants, on the needs of adults with developmental disabilities., • Provides direction, leadership, training, and supervision to program staff to ensure high quality client services., • Co-authors, edits and secures grant funds or additional funding opportunities or equipment donations for program expansion., • Ensures timely review and response to critical incidents that are reported through DHS Critical Incident Reporting Analysis System (CIRAS)., • Participate as a trainer in support of the program budget and the needs of staff training such as Crisis Intervention Training and other pertinent to the program and developmental service department., • Oversees day-to-day aspects of client services and program staff., • Effectively develops, maintains, and track budgets for all aspects of department., • Models, implements, and assesses disability-specific instructional practices and strategies related to learning,, • communicative, social/emotional, and behavioral needs of clients to enhance programming., • Fosters a culture of teamwork and open communication via regular staff meetings., • Implements and enforces all federal and state policies and procedures., • Develops and implements thorough procedures for adult service programs., • Develops annual program calendars., • Ensures timely completion of all departmental paperwork, data, and record keeping., • Ensures transportation services for clients are effectively managed throughout the year., • Ensures adherence to all mandated reporter and OIG guidelines at all times., • Ensures an accurate billing system is maintained for all client service. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in special education, Rehabilitation Services, or Social Services related field. Master’s Degree highly preferred., • Certified as a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) or must be able to obtain certification as QIDP within 6 months., • Minimum 3 years related experience., • Valid driver’s and must meet all requirements to drive agency vehicles. QUALIFICATIONS, • In-depth knowledge of research and evidence-based practices in the field of autism and developmental disabilities with demonstrated ability to apply said practices., • Ability to establish and work effectively with school-based staff, clients, families, governmental agencies, community-based agencies, and employers., • Self-starter with ability to multi-task in a high stress environment., • Demonstrated knowledge of strategies for developing, coordinating, and maintaining community-based programs., • Ability to establish and maintain data tracking systems and utilize various software programs for project and program efficiency., • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and cultivate an atmosphere of cultural responsiveness, respect, and teamwork., • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills., • Extensive experience in developing and delivering professional development and training opportunities., • Ability to manage professionals, review work effectiveness, and develop colleagues’ skills as needed., • People with disabilities and those with personal experience with disability are highly encouraged to apply., • Candidates who speak Spanish or have American Sign Language fluency preferred.
