About HIFI HIFI is a stablecoin infrastructure company building technology for the next-generation of financial products. We build tools for payments and tokenized money products across money movement, cards, and capital markets. Institutions and enterprises already use our platform and APIs to move billions of dollars in production environments around the world, and we are still early. Founded in 2022, our organization is flat and our team is talent dense. We work in person at our office in Flatiron and are intentional about who we work with. We've raised $37 million from world-class investors, including a Series A led by Left Lane Capital. About the Team HIFI's engineering team builds the payments infrastructure that fintechs and financial institutions use to move money on stablecoin rails. The team owns the APIs, ledger, and on-chain systems behind every payment HIFI processes, and works closely with product and compliance to make sure that infrastructure is reliable, secure, and ready for regulated use. As HIFI's volume grows and more institutions build on our platform, this team will decide how stablecoin payments hold up at the scale and standard that traditional financial infrastructure is held to. As a Blockchain Engineer at HIFI you will help own on-chain systems day to day. You'll build and maintain the integrations, smart contracts, and wallet infrastructure that connect HIFI's payments products to the chains and stablecoins we support. This is a hands-on role with real ownership: you'll design how funds move and settle on-chain, work with the rest of engineering to connect those flows to our ledger and APIs, and partner with compliance on controls like wallet screening and transaction monitoring. You'll also be the person the team relies on to judge when a new chain or protocol is ready for production use. What you will build • Wallet infrastructure, including key management, transaction signing, and orchestration across custodial and programmatic wallets., • Onchain transaction handling across EVM chains and the other networks we support, including gas, nonce management, and retries., • Stablecoin minting, burning, and settlement logic that connects USDC and other stablecoins to fiat rails for our on-ramp and off-ramp products., • Integrations with centralized and decentralized exchanges for swaps and liquidity routing, and cross-chain bridging between networks., • A double-entry ledger that keeps onchain balances, banking partners, and customer accounts in sync, with automated reconciliation., • Event listeners, confirmation tracking, and webhooks that give our platform and customers real-time visibility into onchain activity., • Idempotent transaction pipelines with failure recovery and screening hooks, so money moves correctly even when something goes wrong. You might be a fit if • 3+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 1 to 2 years building blockchain systems in production., • Deep familiarity with EVM chains, including transaction lifecycles, gas mechanics, common failure modes, and enough Solidity to read and integrate contracts., • Experience with wallet architecture, such as custody models, signing services, or MPC and HSM-backed setups., • Strong backend fundamentals, including API design, data modeling, and handling consistency and concurrency in distributed systems., • You build financial systems with reconciliation and audit trails by default., • You communicate clearly in code review and in writing. Nice to have • Experience with stablecoin infrastructure such as Circle, or with connecting onchain and fiat settlement., • Hands-on work with CEX APIs, DEX protocols like Uniswap, or bridge integrations., • Experience building ledgers or double-entry accounting systems., • Exposure to compliance engineering, such as transaction monitoring, address screening, or Travel Rule tooling., • Experience with non-EVM chains like Solana or Tron., • Familiarity with traditional money movement, including ACH, wires, and how funds settle between banks and processors., • Early-stage startup experience building and running a system from scratch. Why This Role Matters Every payment HIFI processes eventually settles on-chain, and the institutions behind those payments expect them to work as reliably as a wire or an ACH transfer. This is a chance to build the on-chain systems that hold stablecoin payments to that standard, and to shape how regulated money moves on public blockchains while that infrastructure is still being defined. Additional Requirement Must be within a commutable distance from our office and able to work in person most days of the week. Equal Opportunity Statement HIFI is an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other legally protected status. We also provide reasonable accommodations during the hiring process.

Build the future of healthcare payments AirPay is building software to make the financial experience in healthcare dramatically better for patients and providers. We partner with leading dental groups and insurance carriers to modernize how practices verify coverage, manage billing, and get paid. We are growing quickly, solving real problems for customers at scale, and backed by top-tier investors including IA Ventures, along with founders of Flatiron Health, Clover Health, Shutterstock, and others. This is an opportunity to join a fast-growing company with real traction and help shape the technical foundation of the business. The role We are hiring a Staff Software Engineer to help lead the next phase of AirPay’s technical evolution. This is a high-impact, high-autonomy role for an engineer who wants to do more than just build features. You will help define architecture, guide major technical decisions, mentor other engineers, and partner closely with leadership on the hardest and most important problems in the business. You will work across core products, platform, payments, real-time systems, internal tooling, and AI-powered experiences. Some problems are deeply technical. Others are ambiguous and cross-functional. The common thread is leverage where the work you do should make the entire engineering organization and product platform better. You should be excited about building in an environment where the pace is high, the problems are real, and the best answer is not always obvious. What you’ll work on AirPay sits at the intersection of: • Healthcare infrastructure, • Payments and financial workflows, • Real-time event processing, • Machine learning / LLM driven product experiences You may work on things like: • Designing the systems that power patient payments, billing workflows, and insurance-related operations, • Building reliable event-driven infrastructure for high-volume, low-latency workflows, • Improving the architecture, performance, and maintainability of core platform systems, • Integrating payment providers and building reconciliation, ledger, and transaction infrastructure, • Bringing ML and LLM capabilities into production in ways that create real product value, • Reducing complexity across the stack so teams can ship faster and more confidently, • Raising the quality bar through better technical design, code review, documentation, and engineering standards What you’ll do • Set technical direction for major parts of the platform and influence the broader architecture roadmap, • Lead cross-team initiatives that improve scalability, reliability, and engineering velocity, • Make strong technical decisions in ambiguous environments, with good judgment around tradeoffs, • Design and build critical systems end-to-end, from architecture through production, • Partner with product, design, data, and leadership to translate business goals into technical strategy, • Mentor senior engineers and help level up the team through hands-on collaboration, • Improve developer experience, observability, CI/CD, and operational excellence, • Evaluate new technologies and approaches pragmatically, including where AI can create durable advantage, • Write clear RFCs, design docs, and technical proposals that help teams align and move faster What we’re looking for • 10+ years of software engineering experience, with a history of increasing scope, ownership, and technical leadership, • Strong track record building and scaling complex web applications and backend systems, • Deep experience with modern backend architecture and systems design, • Strong hands-on experience with technologies such as TypeScript, Node.js, MySQL, Redis, and AWS, or comparable tools, • Expertise in relational data modeling, SQL, and performance optimization, • Experience designing event-driven, asynchronous, or real-time systems, • Good architectural instincts and the ability to simplify systems rather than over-engineer them, • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence across teams, • A builder mindset: pragmatic, curious, fast-moving, and willing to go deep when needed Especially valuable experience • Payments, fintech, or transaction-heavy systems, • Healthcare, insurance, or other regulated environments, • PCI, HIPAA, or security/compliance-sensitive systems, • ML or LLM integration in production applications, • Platform or infrastructure engineering, • Growth-stage startup experience, especially in staff or principal-level roles How we work We are a hybrid team with both NYC-based and remote employees. We work closely together, move quickly, and stay close to customers. We care about product quality, technical quality, and solving real operational problems in a thoughtful way. At AirPay, strong engineers do not just ship code. They shape systems, raise standards, and help the company make better decisions. Why this role This is a chance to: • Own meaningful technical problems with real business impact, • Help define the architecture of a fast-growing platform, • Work on a product used by major provider groups and healthcare organizations, • Operate in a role with real influence, not just execution responsibility, • Build at the frontier of healthcare, payments, and AI If you want to work on hard problems, have outsized impact, and help build an important company at an inflection point, we’d love to talk. The comp range for this role is $160,000 – $220,000, with final compensation determined based on experience, scope, and leveling.
