Job Description Job Title: Receiving Clerk Inspector / Quality Control Technician I Job Description The Receiving Clerk Inspector / Quality Control Technician I receives, inspects, and tests incoming products to ensure they are free of defects and meet established performance and quality standards. This role focuses on verifying packaging accuracy, product presentation, and functional performance while accurately documenting findings and supporting continuous improvement in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Responsibilities • Receive incoming products and packaging and verify that shipments match documentation and specifications., • Inspect products visually and physically to confirm correct packaging, presentation, physical appearance, and overall condition., • Test product performance and functionality using appropriate tools and basic test procedures., • Safely operate hand tools such as calipers, power drills, screwdrivers, laser testers, light meters, heat guns, box cutters, and other tools as needed for inspection and testing., • Ensure labeling, barcoding, and silk screening are accurate, legible, and correctly placed on all products and packaging., • Document inspection results clearly and maintain accurate records of product quality, defects, and test outcomes., • Report quality issues and nonconformances to Quality Control leadership that may impact customer satisfaction, contribute to recurring defects, or result in loss of sales., • Provide timely feedback to the company regarding product failures, performance concerns, and trends observed during inspections., • Develop and apply skills for diagnosing errors related to product operation or functions, particularly for lighting, small electronics, or technical products., • Follow established quality control procedures, work instructions, and safety guidelines during all inspection and testing activities., • Work independently with minimal supervision while managing time effectively to meet daily workload and deadlines in a fast-paced environment., • Perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling as needed to complete inspections and handle products., • Six months or more of experience and/or training in repair or service of lighting, small electronics, or other technical products, or an equivalent combination of education and experience., • Experience in warehouse operations, including shipping and receiving activities., • Ability to receive and inspect packaging for accuracy of devices and contents., • Ability to interpret technical instructions and follow established procedures and work instructions., • Strong observation and analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail., • Ability to perform visual inspections accurately and consistently., • Effective communication skills to clearly document findings and report issues., • Strong time-management skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment., • Ability to use basic hand tools safely, including calipers, power drills, screwdrivers, laser testers, light meters, heat guns, and box cutters., • Ability to maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and quality findings., • Physical ability to regularly use hands and arms, and to talk or hear during work tasks., • Physical ability to frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and occasionally sit, climb, or balance., • Ability to regularly lift and move up to 10 lbs, frequently lift up to 50 lbs, and occasionally lift more than 100 lbs with appropriate technique and assistance., • Adequate vision for close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus., • Prior experience in quality assurance, quality control, or inspection roles in a warehouse or production environment., • Expierence in shipping and receiving, including handling inventory and packaging., • Familiarity with quality control documentation and reporting practices., • Comfort working with small electronics, lighting products, or other technical devices., • Ability to develop diagnostic skills for identifying operational or functional product issues over time. Work Environment Work takes place in an open-air warehouse environment that is not climate controlled, so temperatures may vary throughout the day and across seasons. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., supporting a consistent daytime work routine. The role involves regular physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting, and requires the use of proper safety equipment as provided. You will work around typical warehouse tools and equipment, including hand tools and testing devices, in a setting that emphasizes safety, organization, and adherence to established procedures. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sunrise, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
