Job Description The SMT Equipment Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the performance, reliability, and continuous operation of high-precision SMT and through-hole assembly equipment. This role requires hands-on involvement in both preventive maintenance and complex troubleshooting in a fast-paced production setting. Your work will directly impact equipment uptime, production efficiency, and ongoing continuous improvement initiatives across the facility. Responsibilities • Perform daily maintenance, calibration, preventive maintenance, and any necessary emergency repairs on PCBA production equipment, including:, • SMT pick-and-place machines (Juki, Universal), • Screen printers (DEK), • Reflow ovens (Pyramax), • Selective solder systems, • AOI inspection systems, • Quickly diagnose equipment failures and resolve complex electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and software issues to minimize downtime, and develop long-term solutions, • Create, modify, and manage SMT machine programs to support production requirements, • Adjust equipment parameters (e.g., placement accuracy, solder paste printing) to improve yield, efficiency, and product reliability, • Investigate equipment failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions, • Develop and maintain maintenance SOPs, documentation, and failure analysis reports, • Maintain inventory of critical spare parts and consumables to prevent production interruptions, • Accurately document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage in logs and maintenance systems, • Collaborate cross-functionally with production, process engineering, and quality teams to resolve issues and improve performance, • Support equipment upgrades, modifications, and new technology implementation, • Train technicians and assist in developing best practices for equipment operation and maintenance, • Strong troubleshooting skills across electro-mechanical systems, including servo motors, pneumatic systems, sensors and conveyors, etc., • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, pneumatic diagrams, and equipment manuals, • Working knowledge of IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 standards, • Strong documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills, • Ability to work in a Windows-based environment and utilize maintenance software systems, • 3+ years of hands-on experience maintaining SMT/PCBA manufacturing equipment, • Associate’s degree or higher in Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation or a related field, • Experience in consumer electronics, automotive electronics, or high-reliability manufacturing environments preferredCompany DescriptionNAS Electronics, one of the most reliable manufacturing companies in the United States, has transformed the electronics manufacturing industry.
