Job Description Job Title: Maintenance Technician II – Mechanical & Robotics Job Description This temporary Maintenance Technician II role supports a highly automated distribution facility by installing, maintaining, and repairing material handling, automated packaging, and robotic equipment. You will troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, perform preventative maintenance, and help ensure that high-speed conveyor and automation systems operate safely and efficiently. Responsibilities • Install, inspect, repair, and maintain material handling equipment such as automated conveyor systems., • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems on high-speed, automated, and robotic equipment., • Perform preventative maintenance routines on material handling and automation equipment, following established documentation and procedures., • Complete and record preventative maintenance activities, including updating PM sheets and related documentation., • Perform battery changes and conduct preventative maintenance on industrial batteries as required., • Enter downtime and maintenance data into the daily log in an accurate and timely manner., • Manage and update work orders within a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)., • Troubleshoot equipment issues, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions., • Track, organize, and store department inventory, including spare parts and maintenance supplies., • Work safely around high-speed automated and robotic equipment while following all safety policies and procedures., • Support the operations maintenance team by responding to equipment issues and helping minimize production downtime. Essential Skills • Hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, including repair and upkeep of material handling and automation equipment., • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems., • Experience working with automated conveyor systems in a high-speed distribution or manufacturing environment., • Ability to read and work with schematics related to mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems., • Demonstrated capability to perform preventative maintenance on conveyors, batteries, and related equipment., • Working knowledge of basic electrical components and their functions within industrial systems., • Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to manage and close work orders., • Strong troubleshooting skills to identify equipment problems and determine appropriate repairs., • Ability to accurately enter downtime and maintenance information into logs and PM documentation., • Organizational skills to track and manage spare parts and maintenance inventory. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Background in conveyor maintenance, equipment maintenance, or industrial maintenance in a fast-paced environment., • Comfort working with high-speed automation and robotic equipment., • Ability to follow detailed maintenance procedures and safety guidelines., • Strong attention to detail when documenting maintenance activities and equipment status., • Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within an operations maintenance team., • Willingness to learn and participate in formal training on high-speed automation and robotics. Work Environment You will work in a large, modern distribution facility equipped with high-speed, automated, and predominantly robotic material handling systems. The role is physically active and requires comfort walking significant distances, with expectations of walking approximately 10,000 steps per day and safely handling loads up to 49 pounds. Performance is measured through data and system-based metrics to ensure expectations are clear and progress is transparent, without day-to-day micromanagement. The position requires flexibility to work any 10-hour shift as needed by the operation. You will regularly interact with conveyors, automation equipment, industrial batteries, and computerized maintenance tools, including a CMMS, in a fast-paced and safety-focused environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Baton Rouge, LA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.50 - $32.50/hr.
