Responsibilities • Lead construction projects for roadway, interchange, and bridge projects following LADOTD and local agency standards, • Apply the standards described in the LADOTD Construction Manuals and LADOTD Standard Plans, the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and AASHTO, • Apply and monitor work zone traffic control plans (WZTC/MPT), • Perform civil engineering cost estimates, • Communicate and coordinate effectively with other team members of the construction team, manage, train and mentor junior civil engineers as well as coordinate with other project disciplines during construction, • Complete work accurately and in accordance with quality control and quality assurance procedures, • Read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and any special requirements, • Minimum of a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or Bachelor of Science with a concentration on Civil Engineering, • Licensed PE, • Detail and goal-oriented, and proficient in both verbal and written communications, • Five+ years of relevant experience in construction engineering, • Highway: some or all the experience with the reconstruction of asphalt and concrete pavements, drainage systems, roadway lighting and traffic signals; utility protection/relocation; pavement markings/striping; and related work, • Bridge: Several or all the following: concrete & steel demolition; repair of reinforced concrete and structural steel; steel erection; construction of reinforced concrete decks; retaining walls and/or substructure units (piles, piers & abutments); reconstruction of approach roadways; inspection of Work Zone Traffic Control (WZTC) and related work, • LADOTD projects and SiteManager experience (preferred) We offer a professional work environment, a competitive salary, a benefits package, and 401(k).
