Job Description We have an exciting opportunity for an AGV Service Engineer to join our team! In this role, you'll be an integral part of our automation group - powering up Automated Guided Vehicles, AGVs, diagnose any problem areas (gears, reducers, motors, electrical, etc.), repairing, and preparing them for factory acceptance. This position offers hands-on technical work with advanced technology and requires extensive travel (85%) What You'll Do • Travel approximately 85% (United States, Canada, and Europe) Assist in the upgrade of obsolete control systems (PLC, motion control, graphics)., • Fix malfunctioning equipment, • Their day-to-day tasks often include performing routine inspections, responding to equipment alerts or breakdowns, updating system software, and collaborating with automation engineers and operations staff. Technicians may also document maintenance activities, calibrate navigation sensors, and implement preventive measures to reduce future downtime., • This hands-on role requires both independent problem-solving and teamwork to meet productivity and safety goals., • Assist in the launch of new equipment, • Execute Aftermarket Service projects including system inspections, planned service and repairs and emergency service and repairs., • Write inspection and service reports with a focus on recommended actions and further repairs required to promote further Aftermarket business., • In the case of emergency service, this position requires trouble shooting mechanical, electrical and PLC portions of a complete environmental system and assisting customer in getting the system back online., • Represent Dürr in a professional manner with a focus on customer satisfaction and promoting repeat business., • Exercise independent judgement to determine both how to carry out Field Service Assignments and sometimes to augment Field, • Service Assignments to best service the customer., • Provide emergency phone support to customers per the schedule of the emergency call log., • Provide commissioning for projects and products, • Conduct equipment start-up and debug, • Verify hardwired installation, • Debug controls hardware and software, • Record baseline data, • Mark up drawing changes, • Project performance and data collection, • Produce daily site reports, • Provide standby and customer support, • Work as part of a team on major projects or individually on smaller projects, • Equipment start-up and troubleshooting, • System optimization, • Trials and production support, • Equipment and system performance data collection, • Nonessential Functions, • High School Diploma required, • Associate's degree in Technical Field, Military Experience in Systems Maintenance or Union Apprenticeship Program for Electricians preferred, • 5 or more years of position related experience, • Strong foundation in electrical debugging, • Working knowledge of PLCs (e.g. Allen Bradley), • Able to read and interpret AutoCAD drawings, • Proficient with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, • Knowledge of SAP is a plus, • Fabrication and toolmaking experience preferred., • Good time management, organizational, communication skills, • Good technical writing skills, • Able to work well independently and in a team environment, • Able to technically define problems and propose solutions, • Adaptable to change in a learning environment, • Willing and able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays when necessary Physical Demands: • While performing duties of job, incumbent is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit, kneel, crawl; and use hands and arms., • Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds., • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision and distance vision., • Employee must be able to fly and drive., • Employee must be able to climb stairs and ladders, wearing appropriate fall protection as needed., • Incumbent is required to work with and near equipment such as industrial fans, pumps, etc. in a manufacturing setting., • They must also be able to operate motorized equipment such as a scissor lift or man lift.
