Job DescriptionDescription: The Production Supervisor oversees the daily workflow of the department. • Maintain workflow by monitoring steps of the process, setting processing variables, observing control points and equipment: monitoring personnel resources by studying methods, implementing cost reductions, developing reporting procedures and systems, facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points, initiating and fostering cooperation within and between departments., • Complete production plans by scheduling and assigning personnel: accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules: resolving problems, reporting results of the process flow on shift production summaries., • Manage and direct hourly employees including timekeeping and authorizing pay of employees, corrective action, dispute and conflict resolution, authorizing and approving paid time off requested in advance., • Analyze, troubleshoot, and revise systems procedures and operational practices while maintaining budgetary and personnel requirements., • Maintain staffing by orienting and developing employees while promoting personal growth., • Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations: planning, monitoring, and appraising job results., • Provide coaching, counseling, and discipline to employees., • Initiate, coordinate, and enforce systems, policies, and procedures., • Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organizational standards., • Ensure operation of equipment by calling for repairs, evaluating new equipment and techniques., • Provide manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data, answering questions, and responding to requests., • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment and resources while maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures., • Maintain a working relationship with the Union by following the terms of the collective bargaining agreement., • Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, recommending action and contribute to the learning efforts by accomplishing related results as needed., • Plan and organize work, check procedures and equipment to ensure conformance to operation instruction sheets and comply with established priorities and schedules., • Provide training to employees including safety talks, job instruction and policy and procedure updates. Efficiently and accurately evaluate probationary employees., • Investigate work related problems such as safety incidents, production delays, quality matters, operational and/or equipment inefficiencies, etc. Seek root cause of problems and recommend improvements., • Performs other related duties as assigned.Requirements:, • Associate degree or comparable work experience, preferred; a high school diploma or its equivalent is required., • Two to Five years of supervisor experience., • Melt shop or foundry experience, preferred., • Prior union work experience preferred., • 5S and lean methodology experience, preferred., • The ability to work 8-12-hour shifts is required., • Proven skills in supervision, coaching, managing processes, process improvement, production planning, controls, and instrumentation., • Strong supervisory, leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills., • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite., • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines., • Excellent written and organizational skills, • Prolonged standing or walking, • Ability to frequently bend, reach or twist., • Must wear department personal protective equipment., • Must be willing to work in inclement weather conditions both indoor and outdoor., • Must be willing to work in high temperature environment.
