Job Description This role focuses on assembling and wiring custom electrical control panels and automation systems in a clean, precision-driven production environment. You will interpret detailed electrical schematics, build and wire automated controls to customer specifications, perform quality checks, and support continuous improvement while adhering to strict safety and production standards. Responsibilities • Assemble electrical panels and control enclosures according to custom wiring schematics and diagrams., • Wire automated controls based on customer specifications, ensuring accuracy and consistency throughout the build., • Read, understand, and interpret custom electrical wire schematics and diagrams to guide assembly and wiring work., • Use hand and power tools such as drills, screwdrivers, crimpers, and related equipment on a daily basis., • Perform thorough quality checks on completed assemblies, identify defects, and document any issues found., • Rework or repair panels and components as needed to meet quality and performance standards., • Follow all safety procedures and production standards at all times, including proper use of tools and PPE., • Run and route wires within panels, including crimping, stripping, adding terminals, and soldering as required., • Drill and tap holes, mount products, and install components in panels according to layout and design requirements., • Support troubleshooting activities related to wiring and assembly issues to ensure reliable operation of panels. Essential Skills • 34+ years of electrical assembly experience with a focus on custom control panel wiring., • Demonstrated experience wiring automated controls and automation systems., • Strong ability to read, interpret, and follow custom electrical schematics and wiring diagrams., • Successful completion of a wire schematics test with a passing score., • Hands-on experience with power distribution panels and power supply systems., • Proficiency with wire crimping, stripping, adding terminals, soldering, drilling and tapping, and mounting products., • Consistent experience using hand tools and power tools such as drills, screwdrivers, and crimpers., • Solid understanding of electrical wiring practices and troubleshooting techniques., • Ability to work effectively as a team player in a collaborative production environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Technical degree in automation or a related field is a plus., • UL 508A certification is preferred and considered a strong asset., • Experience as a field service technician with broad electrical knowledge of different equipment can be a good fit., • Familiarity with wiring diagrams and electrical troubleshooting in industrial or automation settings., • Comfort working in an environment with no live voltage during assembly, focusing on safe build practices. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $32.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
