Job Description Job Summary The Business Relations (BR) Assistant Director is responsible for supporting the BR Director in managing the BR areas of DVS and serve in the BR Director’s capacity in their absence. BR is comprised of the following DVS programs: • Business Systems Program. This program hosts all the business (other than MNIT) resources for the entirety of the state’s credential and titling system (MNDRIVE), as well as the direct support of both Deputy Registrar (DR) and Driver’s License Agent (DLA). The maintenance, enhancement, and utilization of MNDRIVE, a multimillion-dollar application, is critical to DVS’ ability to fulfill our mission as it serves as our official system of record. The Department of Public Safety is unable to provide sponsorship for work visas. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States at the start of employment. DPS does not participate in E-Verify. Hybrid Eligible: Employees may telework up to 50% or more, depending on the position and the needs of the division. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications To be considered for this position, applicants must demonstrate: • Work under pressure and effectively manage time with strong organizational and problem-solving skills., • Collaborate and work effectively as part of a team and establish and maintain working relationships with all levels of business customers, technology staff and other internal and external stakeholders., • Read and interpret state and federal laws, rules and regulations and procedural documents., • De-escalate, resolve conflict and solve critical issues., • Communicate clearly, and present complex information to users in a comprehensive style, translate business information to technical stakeholders and translate technical and system information to non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications • Demonstrated success in process improvement, standardization and change management initiatives., • Supervisory experience in a union or public sector environment., • Demonstrated problem solving skills in problem definition, information gathering and research alternative analysis, applying creative solutions to unique and/or immediate problems and appropriate problem resolution implementation., • Knowledge of industry best practices, trends and emerging technologies., • Demonstrated analytical skills involving data analysis and management including using metrics and analytics to drive decisions., • Experience managing performance, mentoring, coaching and training staff in business analysis, testing, IT project or product management and customer relations management. Very Light: Requires occasionally moving and transporting such articles as file folders and small tools. May need to maintain a stationary position for long periods of time while carrying out job duties.
