Position Summary The billing specialist completes accounting, customer service, and organizational tasks to promote the financial health of King American Ambulance Company. They are responsible for overseeing the billing process for customers or patients. Their duties include coding services provided, importing billing data, monitoring claims statuses, maintaining organized financial records to aide reporting, and calculating bill totals by looking through previous financial statements. Qualifications ● High school diploma or equivalent; formal education in medical billing and coding is a plus. ● Proven experience as an Ambulance Biller, Medical Biller, or in a similar role with specialized experience in ambulance billing within the healthcare industry. ● Basic knowledge of medical terminology and understanding of ambulance billing regulations to stay current with changes in medical billing codes, insurance regulations, and healthcare billing guidelines. ● Proficiency in medical coding systems (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS) and billing software. ● Strong understanding of insurance claims processing and reimbursement procedures, specifically related to ambulance services. ● Attention to detail and accuracy in coding, data entry, and record keeping. ● Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, insurance companies, and other stakeholders.
