What This Role Is All About As our Medical Billing Specialist, youll play a vital role in keeping our billing operations smooth and accurate. Youll help ensure families receive clear, timely communication about their insurance and billing, while supporting our mission to deliver exceptional pediatric care. ️ Responsibilities Submit and analyze insurance claims using accurate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding Manage accounts receivable (A/R) and follow up on outstanding claims Post payments and process patient statements and correspondence Respond to patient inquiries regarding benefit coverage, billing, and payment options Identify and resolve claim denials and underpayments using CARC codes and payer guidelines Stay current with medical coding updates and communicate changes with providers and management Navigate payer websites to research policies and resolve billing issues Requirements Minimum of 4 years recent experience in medical billing for physician services Proficient in insurance payment posting, CARC codes, and denial management Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology Comfortable using EHR systems and practice management software Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills Strong attention to detail, time management, and ability to multitask Self-motivated and results-driven with a commitment to accuracy Preferred: Experience in pediatric or primary care billing Preferred: Familiarity with Medicare's National Correct Coding Initiative (NCCI) edits Preferred: Certification such as AAPC or CPC Why Join Us?
