The Manager, Transitional Housing- Village, CA provides oversight of the Transitional Housing – Village (CA location) A rent-free housing program that serves wounded, ill & injured service members with family who are transitioning out of the military. This position ensures effective creation, implementation, and integration of program components. The Manager, Transitional Housing-Village, CA will oversee daily operations, serve as case manager for TH-V clients, and ensure program compliance with organizational policies. Desired candidates will have: • Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field desired, applicable experience may be substituted., • 2-3 years’ experience in non-profit organization or working with military lifestyle and challenges., • Background in transitional housing and experience working with leasing companies., • Familiarity with VA procedures is preferred., • Valid Driver’s License, • Criminal background check, • MVR – Motor Vehicle Report (annual), • 100/300/100 Personal Auto Coverage, • Microsoft Office Programs Primary job duties include: • Executes operations of Transitional Housing – Village (CA)., • Reviews applications to determine eligibility, interviews applicants and prioritizes applications based on need. Ensures that all required documents are completed by clients and all client records are up to date and remain confidential., • Completes unit inventory, assesses any damages, cost of repairs and arranges turnover repairs., • Assists with scheduling make-ready of vacated housing units, inspections, upgrades, set-ups and occupancy. Coordinates with apartment management to coordinate intake/outtake of residence and assists clients in scheduling repairs ensuring work orders are submitted and completed in a timely manner., • Coordinates, executes & plans all community engagement events for clients., • Researches and maintains a database of external service organizations and community resources ensuring a thorough integration of all families is accomplished within the local communities., • Provides comprehensive case management. Assists residents with integrating into the respective communities including assisting with the housing, employment, education, health, community resources and other specific needs based on the individual family needs., • Performs background checks and reference checks on all candidates prior to final selection., • Coordinates donation requests & assists in managing in-kind inventory, accounting books & internal reports., • Reviews monthly Profit & Loss Statements, assists with annual budget planning., • Performs other duties as assigned. We develop, own, and manage multi-family supportive housing and licensed residential care homes. Department Summary The Supportive Housing Management department manages Brilliant Corners’ portfolio of owned real estate which provides housing and services to various vulnerable populations. The largest part of the portfolio consists of single-family homes that house previously institutionalized people with developmental disabilities. Other programs consist of multifamily or scattered site housing serving formerly homeless and/or developmentally disabled, individuals and families. Position Summary The Senior Property Manager is responsible for the overall operation, and the day-to-day implementation of property management policies and procedures to ensure well-managed and maintained homes of our growing portfolio of single-family homes used as Care Homes for individuals with developmental disabilities and other housing models serving vulnerable populations. The Senior Property Manager ensures compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies and federal, state, and local laws; maintains acceptable and supportive environment for all residents and service providers; manages maintenance staff and their duties, interacts with and supervises vendors. Additionally, the Senior Property Manager trains and mentors other team members, ensures a culture of collaboration and excellence, and functions as the Regional Property Manager when s/he is not available or as assigned. Position Responsibilities Leadership and Personnel Management • Oversees maintenance program, directly supervising maintenance employees and contractors, conducting property inspections and monitoring work orders., • Develops and maintains good staff working relationships, cultivating the spirit of teamwork, and exemplary customer service., • Assures all direct reports receive updated training regularly to ensure proficiency; coordinating all necessary training for staff, including his/her own., • Assists in onboarding and training new hires in the SHM Dept., including but not limited to Property Managers, Maintenance Technicians, and Program Associates., • Provides ongoing training and mentorship for Property Managers — especially in the areas of staff supervision and navigating and best utilizing relationships with Regional Centers, service providers, CA Dept. of Developmental Services, and other BC departments., • Proposes and develops new or improved systems and processes to improve efficiency and quality of service delivery., • Represents the organization to public agencies and the community., • Provides advisement/direction on property and resident issues to other Property Managers. Physical Condition and Maintenance of Properties • Ensures that emergencies are responded to promptly and assigns staff, including self, to be available in this event; provides direct assistance and direction during after-hours emergencies., • In conjunction with the Regional Facilities Manager, ensures timely completion of all preventative maintenance tasks throughout the region., • In conjunction with the Regional Facilities Manager, ensures timely completion of annual inspection at all homes throughout the region., • Performs continual informal inspections of the properties to ensure that they are being properly maintained, that mechanical devices are in working order, and that the environments are safe and attractive., • Adheres to all accounting and reporting procedures required by Brilliant Corners., • Provides input to the Regional Property Manager for development of the annual operating budget., • Monitors payment of vendors and works with Program Associate and Accounting Department to ensure timely payment., • Manages proper use of reserve for replacement funds, including obtaining approval from the Regional Center and ensuring funds are transferred to the operating account. Physical Requirements Candidates should have physical mobility for tasks such as standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, twisting, and walking on uneven surfaces. Physical ability to manipulate hands, fingers, and wrists to handle, feel, grasp, or operate hand/power tools, parts, controls, and equipment. They should be capable of performing stationary tasks like sitting for up to 6 to 8 hours a day. Job Description Position Title: Housing Navigator (Adult Re-Entry Program-San Diego) Company Description: NAMI San Diego & Imperial Counties (National Alliance on Mental Illness) is a nonprofit organization that provides free education, support services, and advocacy to improve the quality of life of everyone affected by mental health conditions. Program Description: The Adult Re-Entry Program is led by Peer Case Managers and Housing Navigators to provide wrap-around re-entry services and housing assistance to adults with a history of incarceration. The program will utilize a Housing First approach and engage participants in activities to sustain stable permanent housing. Primary Responsibilities/Function: Our Housing Navigators support individuals who have been formerly incarcerated in the California state prison system, are living/returning to San Diego County, and are 18 years of age or older. They support individuals with identifying and obtaining housing, obtaining housing-related documentation, successfully moving in, and retaining housing, which includes providing support to reduce and resolve landlord-related issues. Additionally, our Housing Navigators develop and maintain relationships with landlords and other housing providers to facilitate access to housing for our clients. Our Housing Navigators work in the field in San Diego County, as well as in office. Duties and Responsibilities: • Build rapport and provide culturally sensitive, gender affirming, and trauma-informed support to all individuals served., • Ongoing meetings with our client(s) to determine needs, preferences, and goals., • Develop and implement an Individualized Service Plan (person-centered, housing plan) that aligns with the individual's needs, preferences, and goals, and update the plan as needed., • Research available housing options, present options to the individual, accompany them to potential housing sites, and support with the application process for selected location(s)., • Support individuals with applications for subsidies, as well as obtaining housing-related documentation., • Identify needs for rental deposits, temporary rent support, and one-time services and modifications needed to have safe and stable housing; obtain approvals, coordinate, and secure related funding., • Works closely with our Peer Case Managers to coordinate person-centric housing options, and with our accountants to coordinate and receive approval for housing-related financial support., • Support individuals with maintaining a safe and stable tenancy, including support to reduce and resolve landlord-related issues., • Conduct outreach with landlords and housing sites to provide information about our program and facilitate access to housing for our clients., • Use evidence-based practices such as motivational interviewing, housing first, and harm reduction principles, to engage & support the individual in achieving their housing-related goals., • Complete timely and accurate documentation of eligibility, consent, assessments, housing plan, progress towards goals, and all communications with the individual, their family, and landlords., • Conduct outreach and engagement with potential participants, as well as with agencies and providers that support them, including state prisons., • Other duties as assigned.
