___Job ID85344 LocationFolsom Full/Part TimeFull Time ______ The Department of Urologic Surgery, in collaboration with the UC Davis Medical Group, is seeking a Board-Certified Urologist for the UCD Health Specialty Care Clinic. This position serves as a staff physician with a primary focus on the diagnosis, treatment, and management of urologic conditions, including both outpatient and surgical care. The role involves patient evaluation and office-based procedures in the outpatient clinic, with approximately the possibility of one day per week dedicated to operative cases in the inpatient setting. This position offers a structured and balanced schedule, with clinic hours from Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and one Saturday clinic per month. The inclusion of a Saturday clinic allows physicians to maintain a predictable schedule without on-call responsibilities, supporting a manageable work-life balance. Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position • Unrestricted medical licensure in the State of California, • Board Certification or eligibility through the American Board of Urology, • Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certification, • Fluoroscopy Permit, • M.D. or D.O. degree, • Completion of an ACGME accredited urology training program, • Prior experience performing outpatient and surgical urologic procedures is required, • Excellent knowledge of clinical practice assessment, diagnostic and treatment practices appropriate to delineation of practice., • Excellent clinical judgment to assure appropriate consultation and collaboration, consistent with scope of practice, • Strong surgical and procedural skills for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and of surgical interventions, • Ability to perform required assessments, • Able to articulate patient needs and to document appropriately, • Knowledge of catheterization techniques and urinary devices, • Knowledge of diagnostic procedures: urinalysis, imaging (ultrasound, CT, MRI), urodynamics, • Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing with a diverse group of patients, attendings, residents, nurses, and other ancillary staff, • Ability to work effectively, independently and with sensitivity in a busy and complex patient-care environment, • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team in the delivery of medical care, • Knowledge of hospital policy and procedures related to the delivery of patient care, • Ability to meet health requirements of a clinical setting, • Ability to handle confidential matters in a professional and diplomatic manner, • Effective patient education and counseling, • Maintain manual dexterity and precision for surgical procedures The Department of Urologic Surgery in the School of Medicine provides state-of-the-art clinical care services, educates medical students, residents, clinical and postdoctoral fellows in urology, and conducts basic science and clinical research, including clinical trials. Our clinic offers comprehensive diagnostic and treatment options for a wide range of adult and pediatric urological conditions, such as urinary incontinence, prostate and kidney cancers, kidney stones, male infertility, pediatric urology and kidney dysfunction. The clinic also serves as a referral center for urologic patients in northern California. Department Specific Job Scope The position is based at the UC Davis Health Specialty Care Clinic and follows a structured, in-person schedule. This includes a minimum of four full clinic days per week (eight sessions), with standardized appointment lengths, as well as approximately one full day per week dedicated to operative time in the operating room. In addition, the role requires Saturday coverage, consisting of one full clinic day per month on Saturday. The incumbent is expected to meet productivity targets established by the Medical Group. No on-call duties are required.
