Position Title: Respite Services Coordinator (NOC Shift) Program(s) and Location: Crisis Respite Center (Sacramento, CA) Schedule: Full-Time, Non-Exempt, NOC Shift, Friday night through Tuesday morning 10:30pm to 6:30am Pay rate: $23.05 hourly About the Position: The Crisis Respite Services Coordinator will assist individuals in managing their crisis and will offer information, advocacy, and referrals for continued assistance and support after they leave the Agency’s Crisis Respite Center. The Agency’s Crisis Respite Center (CRC) is a program designed to provide any Sacramento / Sacramento County resident (18 years and older) who is experiencing a mental health hardship/crisis a place to go to receive support and gain hope for a resolution. The Crisis Respite Center is a person-centered program, providing a welcoming and non-judgmental environment for individuals who are in need of relief from the stresses of life, and who need assistance in stabilizing their mental health crisis. The individuals who come to the CRC may be experiencing a wide variety of mental health issues. The Crisis Respite Center is open and welcomes individuals 24 hours a day / 7 days a week. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: • Support individuals with active listening, demonstration of empathy, and carry a message of hope and recovery., • Observe, assess, intervene, and refer (within one’s scope of practice) in situations with clients regarding mental health symptoms, physical health symptoms, and substance use issues., • Develop service/goal plans with clients and meet with the clients as needed to encourage, support and advocate for progress and assist with skill development., • Provide positive public relations, community referrals, information, and support by linking clients to needed resources; advocate with and on behalf of clients and significant support persons the clients have identified., • Accurately complete all necessary forms, reports, and paperwork required by the program on a timely basis (e.g., progress notes, special incident reports, discharge summaries, Medi-Cal billing, Avatar forms, and HMIS)., • Ensure the office, house, rooms, units, and yard are clean and fit for occupancy, where applicable. Provide and assist with cleaning as needed., • Act as a designated Mandated Reporter for the observed or suspected abuse and/or neglect of children, disabled individuals, dependent adults, and elder/senior citizens. Mandated Reporter also includes “Duty to Warn” which includes the responsibility to notify authorities and the intended victim(s) of physical harm., • Ensure the protection and confidentiality of all Protected Health Information (PHI) by following all policies and procedures in the Agency HIPAA Manual. Qualifications: • Lived experience as a mental health consumer or a family member of a mental health consumer or as someone who has experienced homelessness., • Ability and willingness to work with people experiencing homelessness where they are in encampments, on the street, or in shelters., • Work experience with persons who have substance abuse problems, preferably individuals who are dually diagnosed (mental health & substance abuse) is highly desirable., • Knowledge of 12-Step Programs and/or personal experience with substance abuse recovery is highly desirable., • Demonstrated knowledge of General Assistance, Food Stamps, Temporary Aid to Needy Families, Unemployment Insurance, and SSI/SSDI regulations Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: • Possess a valid California Driver’s License and current vehicle insurance.
