American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Peoria, Illinois. • Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 01/05/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Employment Type: Travel American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position in a high-acuity unit requiring ACLS, BLS, and an active IL RN license. • Work in an 8-bed high acuity ICU within an acute care hospital, • Care for patients with respiratory failure, post-surgical needs, wound care, IV antibiotics, post CVA, post trauma, and cardiac cases, • Nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:2 to 1:3, • Night shift position (7p-7a) with 12-hour shifts and rotating weekends and holidays, • Required to work every other weekend and rotating holidays, • ICU RNs may float to the medical/surgical unit as needed, • Utilizes Epic EMR; experience with Epic is required, • Common titratable drips include Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl, Versed, Lasix, Insulin, Amiodarone, Nitro, Levophed, Dopamine, and Cardizem, • All 8 beds use hardwired Phillips telemetry monitors, monitored by an ICU-based telemetry tech, • Orientation includes classroom training and two unit shifts with a preceptor, • RNs provide primary care as there are no nurse aids or patient care techs on the unit, • House supervisor is available 24/7, with hospitalists on days and telehealth MDs after hours, • Respiratory therapy is available in-house 24/7, • Scrubs are required; any color is permitted and OSF-approved T-shirts are allowed, • Holiday coverage is required on a rotation and when needed to fill gaps, • No call or standby required at this time, but this may be subject to change, • First-time travelers are accepted, • Local candidates within 50 miles are considered at a local rate, • Active IL RN license required at time of consideration, • Minimum of 1 year of ICU nursing experience, • Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications required, • Proficient in care of sedated and ventilated patients, PEG tube care and feedings, CVC/PICC/Midline use and care, and tracheostomy care, • Must have experience titrating vasopressors and managing sedation and pain control drips, • Experience with Epic charting system required, • Willingness to provide negative drug screen for all panels, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy, • Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID #P-642149.
