Sr. Scrum Master The Senior Scrum Master is a seasoned Agile leader responsible for guiding multiple teams and stakeholders through complex, high-impact projects in the captive auto finance sector. This role goes beyond facilitating Scrum ceremonies to include mentoring junior Scrum Masters, driving organizational Agile maturity, and ensuring alignment between technical delivery and business objectives, such as enhancing loan origination platforms, optimizing payment systems, or integrating with dealer management software. The Senior Scrum Master brings deep expertise in Agile methodologies and auto finance processes to deliver innovative solutions while navigating regulatory requirements and fostering a culture of continuous improvement while also mentoring less experienced scrum masters. Responsibilities: • Lead and facilitate Scrum ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives) across multiple teams, ensuring efficiency and focus on delivering value., • Guide Product Owners in refining and prioritizing product backlogs to align with strategic goals, such as reducing loan approval times or improving customer self-service portals., • Manage dependencies and risks across teams working on interconnected systems (e.g., credit scoring, payment gateways, compliance modules)., • Mentor and coach Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and development teams on advanced Agile practices, tailoring them to the auto finance domain., • Drive the adoption of scaled Agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe, Kanban) where applicable, supporting enterprise-wide initiatives like digital transformation or legacy system modernization., • Foster a high-performing, self-organizing culture across teams, emphasizing collaboration between developers, QA, compliance, and business units., • Proactively identify and resolve complex impediments, such as delays in third-party integrations (e.g., Experian, Black Book) or bottlenecks in regulatory approval processes., • Partner with senior leadership to address organizational barriers, advocating for process changes that enhance agility and delivery speed., • Spearhead efforts to mature the organization’s Agile practices, introducing metrics (e.g., team velocity, lead time, defect rates) and tools to measure and improve performance., • Collaborate with leadership to align Agile processes with auto finance priorities, such as accelerating time-to-market for new financing products or ensuring compliance with evolving regulations., • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders (e.g., CDO, CIO, & Senior Executives) on Agile delivery progress, risks, and opportunities., • Communicate complex technical and process updates in a clear, business-friendly manner, ensuring transparency via dashboards, reports, and presentations., • Facilitate cross-departmental alignment between IT, finance, legal, servicing and sales teams to deliver cohesive solutions., • Ensure teams embed compliance requirements (e.g., TILA, Reg Z, UDAAP) into development cycles, collaborating with legal and risk teams., • Lead efforts to mitigate risks in projects handling sensitive data, such as credit applications, payment histories, or dealer financing agreements., • Stay ahead of industry trends (e.g., AI-driven credit decisioning, Agentic AI) and recommend innovative approaches to enhance auto finance solutions., • Champion the use of advanced Agile tools (e.g., Jira Align, Confluence, Monday.com) and DevOps practices to streamline delivery pipelines. Skills: • Expert-level knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, and other Agile methodologies, with the ability to adapt them to auto finance challenges., • Deep understanding of auto finance workflows, such as underwriting, securitization, or dealer financing, and their technical underpinnings., • Exceptional leadership and coaching skills, with a track record of developing high-performing teams., • Strong analytical skills to interpret performance metrics and drive data-informed decisions., • Proficiency in Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps) and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines or DevOps practices., • Working knowledge of regulatory frameworks in financial services (e.g., Dodd-Frank, CFPB guidelines) is a plus., • Strategic thinker with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset., • Confident communicator able to influence stakeholders at all levels., • Resilient and adaptable in a fast-paced, regulated industry., • Passionate about mentoring others and fostering a collaborative, innovative culture. Experience: Experience - 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead capacity. 2+ years of experience in auto finance, financial services, or a related industry, with exposure to software projects like loan management systems or customer-facing applications. Proven success leading multiple Agile teams simultaneously and driving organizational Agile transformation. Experience with scaled Agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe, Scrum@Scale) is highly desirable.
