About The Role: The Content Architect sits at the intersection of strategy, storytelling, operations, and performance. This role owns OluKais content enginedefining how the brand shows up editorially across every channel, from social and E-commerce to owned retail, wholesale, and events. This is not just a content management role. The Content Architect brings editorial vision, builds scalable systems and standards, and drives content performance with a data-informed mindset. You will collaborate across the entire Marketing organizationworking closely with the CMO, SVP Creative, Director of Marketing, creative leadership, social, E-commerce, and retail teamsto translate brand strategy into stories that move people and drive the business. Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 1. Editorial Strategy & Brand Vision • Support and steward the editorial vision and brand content strategy in alignment with the CMO and SVP Creative., • Define OluKais content pillars and storytelling themesensuring they authentically reflect the Aloha spirit, ocean culture, and the brands premium positioning., • Develop content initiatives that support key business objectives, including social KPIs, go-to-market messaging, and performance marketing., • Identify and tailor content for distinct audience segments across consumer, wholesale, and international channels., • Partner with CMO, SVP Creative, and Director of Marketing to align on content storylines and priority projects. 2. Content Planning & Editorial Calendar • Own the editorial roadmap. Build and manage the master content calendar across all channels and business units., • Align content planning with go-to-market prioritieskey product launches, drops, collaborations, retail openings, trade shows, and cultural moments., • Plan and coordinate multi-channel content distribution across social, web, email, owned retail, wholesale, and Amazon., • Partner with the Director of Marketing to identify the highest-priority content moments tied to key revenue drivers (e.g. BFCM, seasonal launches)., • Ensure content planning accounts for both brand-building and commercial storytelling in equal measure. 3. Content Creation & Production Oversight • Write, edit, and refine content across touchpoints; develop detailed briefs for creative teams and external contributors., • Manage and direct freelance writers, photographers, videographers, copywriters, and production partners., • Oversee content production workflows in partnership with the Creative leadership, video editors, copywriter, and project manager., • Ensure consistency of voice, tone, and quality across every consumer and trade touchpoint., • Build and maintain a content governance model including standards, approval processes, and version control. 4. Content Architecture & Systems • Support OluKais content taxonomy, metadata frameworks, and organizational structure within the DAM and CMS., • Build scalable content models that enable assets to be structured, tagged, and reused efficiently across channelsembracing a create once, publish anywhere approach., • Collaborate with E-commerce, IT, and wholesale account teams to ensure content integrates seamlessly across platforms and partner sites & apps., • Evaluate and implement tools and technologiesincluding AI-assisted content workflowsthat advance the brands content capabilities at scale., • Develop content frameworks and localization guidelines that preserve brand voice for international markets and distributor partners. 5. Cross-Functional Collaboration • Partner with the Social Coordinator on content distribution, amplification, and platform-specific optimization across all social channels., • Collaborate with the E-commerce team to bring digital storytelling to life through content, ensuring stores feel connected to brand moments., • Support key account and wholesale partners by ensuring brand content tools, digital assets, and product content are compelling, current, and accessible. 6. Performance & Optimization • Define and track content KPIs including traffic, engagement, time on page, CTR, and conversion across owned digital channels., • Use analytics to identify high-performing content themes, formats, and cadencescontinuously refining the content strategy based on what works., • Deliver regular content performance reports and optimization roadmaps to marketing leadership., • Stay ahead of shifts in how consumers discover contentincluding the growing role of AI-generated results, social search, and creator platforms. Requirements and Qualifications: • Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field., • 5+ years of progressive experience in content strategy, editorial management, or brand content rolespreferably within a premium lifestyle, apparel, or footwear brand., • Proven track record of building and executing multi-channel editorial strategies that drive both brand equity and measurable business results., • Exceptional writing and editing skills with a sharp editorial eye and strong command of brand voice., • Experience managing freelance contributors, creative teams, and content production workflows., • Strong understanding of content architecture principlesincluding taxonomy, metadata, DAM systems, and content governance., • Solid grasp of digital performance metrics and E-commerce content optimization., • Proficiency in project management and editorial planning tools (e.g. Asana, Airtable, Notion, or equivalent)., • Familiarity with AI-assisted content tools and the evolving landscape of content operations., • Highly organized, collaborative, and calm under the pressure of simultaneous deadlines and competing priorities., • Passion for OluKais mission, the ocean lifestyle, and the values of Aloha. Location & Office Structure: This is an in-office hybrid position, mandatory 4 days per week in office in Irvine, CA with the option to work from home 1 day per week. Subject to change without notice as per company guidelines. Compensation:The salary range for this position is $110,000 to $130,000 plus opportunity for annual bonus; salary is based on the experience that you bring to the position.
