Job Description OBJECTIVE The Market Research Analyst (MRA) supports the Market Research and Supplier Management Department (MRSMD) in producing market-research deliverables for Purchasing, Operations, and other PPI stakeholders. The role safeguards audit-ready records in compliance with internal policies, understands the technical scope of each request, and taps multiple databases, industry contacts, trade events, and peer networks—to identify supplier alternatives and gather high-quality data. Throughout the engagement, the Market Research Analyst (MRA) tracks and reports progress against defined KPIs, continuously highlighting actionable insights that improve cost, quality, and schedule outcomes. In the final stage, the Market Research Analyst (MRA) partners with the Supplier Management & Analysis Coordinator to synthesize findings into clear, KPI-oriented reports for clients, providing timely status updates at every step. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, additional duties may be assigned) • Continuously monitor upstream, midstream and downstream equipment, safety-system and services markets, capturing emerging trends, price drivers and risk signals to maintain an up-to-date knowledge base that feeds sourcing strategies., • Leverage advanced intelligence tools (online services, subscription databases, industry directories, trade shows, professional councils, etc.) to collect and validate technical, commercial and financial data, transforming findings into actionable insights for internal clients., • Document each stage of the market research process in accordance with PPI’s internal policies and ISO 9001 procedures, ensuring traceability and audit-readiness of all records., • Maintain organized and version-controlled digital files, including e-Requests, supplier documentation, correspondence, reports and analytical outputs., • Obtain from suppliers and verified sources all technical, commercial and legal documents necessary to support procurement decisions and compliance reviews., • Issue RFIs/RFQs and follow up with suppliers to ensure the completeness and accuracy of the information received within the established timeframe., • Provide timely and proactive status updates to internal stakeholders regarding research progress, challenges, and completion timelines, highlighting deviations from established KPIs when applicable., • Support the Market Research Coordinator or Specialist in the development of market research deliverables, including data analysis, report writing, and dashboard preparation using Excel or Power BI., • Draft professional communications, business summaries, and presentations as directed by the Coordinator and/or Manager to keep stakeholders informed and aligned., • Perform administrative tasks related to the Market Research function, including the processing of e-Requests, report formatting, and closure of documentation workflows., • Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal procedures, documentation templates, and knowledge-management practices within the Supplier Management and Analysis Department., • Perform other duties as assigned by the Coordinator and/or Manager in support of departmental goals QUALIFICATIONS / ATTRIBUTES • Honesty, trustworthiness, and strong sense of professional integrity, • Analytic and detail-oriented mindset with a focus on data accuracy, • Dependable and self-motivated, able to manage multiple priorities under limited supervision, • Curiosity for continuous learning and improvement in market analysis, • Team-oriented with a collaborative approach and respect for multicultural environments, • High sense of accountability and commitment to meeting deadlines and quality standards, • Demonstrates initiative and informal leadership by guiding peers and contributing to team knowledge-building efforts REQUIREMENTS Education Level: • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, International Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field required., • Postgraduate coursework or certifications in Market Intelligence, Strategic Sourcing, Project Management, Business Analytics or similar (preferred but not mandatory) Years of Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant experience in market research, supply chain analysis, procurement support or data intelligence roles within the Oil & Gas, Energy, or Industrial sectors. Experience using structured data sources, dashboards, and supplier interaction workflows is highly desirable Travel Requirements: 2% of the time attend industry events all around the world. Language: Must speak, read, and write in English and Spanish. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. Must be able to lift 10-20 lbs. occasionally.
