Job DescriptionDescription: Onsite in Cincinnati, OH Our client seeks a Platform Engineer to support and maintain a market risk platform used for regulatory, stress testing, and daily risk reporting. The role focuses on production support for batch-oriented, compute-intensive processing, platform configuration and maintenance, and incident management. The engineer will collaborate with risk, quantitative, data, and infrastructure teams to improve stability, reliability, and observability while building domain expertise over time. Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. Rate: $64.00 to $74.00/hr. w2 Responsibilities: • Learn the market risk platform architecture, configurations, batch processes, calculations, and integrations., • Provide production support by monitoring batch runs and system health, diagnosing and resolving job or data failures, and supporting month-end, stress, and regulatory processing., • Participate in an on-call or operational support rotation as required., • Maintain and configure platform components to meet evolving business and regulatory needs., • Perform environment maintenance including upgrades, patching, configuration changes, and tuning., • Implement improvements to stability, reliability, observability, monitoring, error handling, and recoverability., • Automate manual operational tasks and enhance tooling to reduce intervention., • Serve as a technical responder for incidents, partner with vendors and internal teams to resolve complex issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement preventative fixes., • Contribute to post-incident reviews and continuous-improvement plans., • Collaborate with market risk, credit risk, quantitative, analytics, data engineering, and platform teams., • Build working knowledge of market risk concepts such as VaR, sensitivities, and stress testing, and understand downstream consumption of outputs., • Translate business and risk requirements into technical platform changes., • Create and maintain documentation for workflows, configurations, common failure modes, resolutions, and operational runbooks., • 3+ years in platform engineering, production support, or systems engineering., • Experience supporting batch-oriented, compute-intensive platforms in production., • Strong troubleshooting skills for complex system and data issues., • Working knowledge of Linux/Unix environments., • Working knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Shell., • Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL., • Comfort operating in a controlled, regulated production environment., • Platform support (preferred).
