Job DescriptionDescription:Preschool Lead Teacher (K1–K4) University Christian School | Jacksonville, FL Position Summary University Christian School is seeking a loving, dependable, and qualified Preschool Lead Teacher to serve our K1–K4 classrooms. The Lead Teacher plays a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that supports the spiritual, emotional, social, and academic growth of young children. This position partners closely with families and staff to model Christ’s love while laying a strong foundation for lifelong learning. Requirements:Key Responsibilities • Serve as the lead classroom teacher for assigned K1–K4 age group, • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, DCF-compliant curriculum, • Create a warm, structured, and Christ-centered classroom environment, • Foster social, emotional, spiritual, and cognitive development, • Supervise and support assistant teachers and classroom aides, • Maintain accurate records including lesson plans, attendance, and assessments, • Communicate regularly and professionally with parents/guardians, • Ensure classroom compliance with DCF licensing, health, and safety standards, • Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging learning space, • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, chapel, and school events, • Minimum of a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, • Completion of all required Florida DCF training hours, including but not limited to:, • 45-Hour Child Care Training (or equivalent), • Early Literacy, • Health, Safety & Nutrition, • Child Abuse & Neglect Reporting, • Ability to meet DCF Lead Teacher qualifications, • Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain, • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, • Previous experience as a Preschool Lead Teacher, • Experience in a faith-based or Christian school setting, • Genuine love for young children, • Strong organizational and leadership skills, • Patience, flexibility, and a nurturing spirit, • Ability to collaborate with a team, • Indoor classroom setting, • Active role requiring standing, walking, bending, lifting, and engagement with children, • Christ-centered mission and family-oriented culture, • Supportive leadership and collaborative team, • Opportunity to shape hearts and minds at a critical developmental stage, • Meaningful work with eternal impact University Christian School is an equal opportunity employer and conducts background screening in accordance with Florida DCF and MinistrySafe requirements.
