Job Description POSITION DESCRIPTION & EXPECTATIONS 1. Job Title & Position Information Job Title: Project Manager (OSP, Construction and/or Telecommunication) Reports To: David Portillo, Operations Manager Employment Type: Regular Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., with flexibility as required Compensation: $60,000 - $70,000 2. Position Summary The Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all phases of Outside Plant (OSP) telecommunications projects, including fiber‐optic construction, underground and aerial deployments, permitting, and field operations. This role ensures that projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with industry standards and client expectations. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership, deep OSP technical knowledge, effective communication, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‐paced environment. 2.1 Benefits Paid Time Off (PTO) PTO is accrued every pay period and increases with your tenure at the company. Salaried Employees: • 90 days – 1 year: 10 paid days (2 weeks) + 5 additional unpaid days, • 1 – 5 years: 15 paid days (3 weeks) + 5 additional unpaid days, • 6 – 10 years: 20 paid days (4 weeks) + 5 additional unpaid days, • 90 days – 1 year: 5 paid days (1 week) + 5 additional unpaid days, • 1 – 10 years: 10 paid days (2 weeks) + 5 additional unpaid days Employees receive 7 full paid holidays each year: • New Year’s Day, • Memorial Day, • Independence Day, • Labor Day, • Thanksgiving Day, • Christmas Day, • Christmas Eve (half day), • Health, Dental, and Vision plans available to all eligible employees. 3. Core Responsibilities 3.1 Project Planning, Scheduling & Execution • Manage day‐to‐day operations of OSP projects including fiber builds, trenching, boring, aerial work, and splicing activities., • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, work plans, and resourcing., • Conduct onsite field visits to monitor progress, safety adherence, and construction quality., • Identify risks, delays, conflicts, or nonconformities and implement corrective actions promptly., • Coordinate with engineers, field crews, subcontractors, and clients to align project goals and deliverables., • Manage subcontractor performance including verification of completed work., • Communicate project status, blockers, and updates to leadership and key stakeholders., • Oversee permitting processes with cities, utilities, and municipalities., • Review and interpret construction drawings, maps, engineering plans, permits, and technical specifications., • Track materials, equipment, resource needs, and procurement requirements., • Maintain accurate documentation including daily reports, project updates, and client deliverables., • Support closeout packages, as‐built documentation, redlines, and final inspections., • Recommend improvements to OSP workflows, documentation standards, and operational efficiency., • Participate in initiatives to enhance safety, field standards, collaboration, and cross‐department processes., • Maintain accurate tracking of project metrics, performance indicators, and benchmarks., • Support new or ongoing projects with implementation, training, and follow‐up as needed. 4. Short‐Term Expectations (First 30 Days) • Learn current OSP project workflows, documentation standards, and safety requirements., • Demonstrate consistent communication, note‐taking, reporting, and follow‐through., • Begin managing components of active projects under supervision and support., • Complete field visits to understand job requirements, safety conditions, and construction expectations., • Review existing project plans, schedules, permits, and documentation workflows., • Establish accurate daily and weekly reporting practices. 5. Long‐Term Plan & Growth Objectives • Independently manage multiple OSP projects with minimal oversight., • Strengthen accuracy and efficiency in scheduling, budgeting, and field coordination., • Improve customer communication and subcontractor management to support on‐time delivery., • Become a technical subject‐matter resource for OSP construction, field operations, testing, and permitting., • Develop improved workflows that enhance team communication, documentation quality, and project execution., • Contribute to company growth through high‐quality project delivery and continuous improvement of processes. 6. Weekly & Monthly Deliverables Plan 6.1 Daily & Weekly Deliverables (Ongoing) • Daily: Maintain updated project notes, schedules, progress reports, and field status., • Daily: Communicate blockers, schedule changes, permitting updates, and risks., • Weekly: Submit project updates to leadership including schedule status, field progress, and material needs., • Weekly: Confirm upcoming deliverables, milestones, and priorities with Management Team., • Monthly KPI review: schedule adherence, on‐budget performance, safety compliance, documentation accuracy, and project closeout progress., • Monthly review of subcontractor performance, risk items, and process improvements., • Monthly submission of completed reports, as‐builts (as applicable), and updated project documentation., • Monthly identification of improvements for OSP workflow, scheduling, or field processes. 7. Work Expectations & Availability • Must ask questions immediately when requirements, drawings, technical specifications, or instructions are unclear—no assumptions., • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple concurrent project demands., • Additional hours may be required due to field conditions, project deadlines, and client needs., • Maintain high levels of professionalism, customer service, and safety compliance. 8. Qualifications • 3+ years of experience in OSP, telecom construction, or fiber‐optic project management., • Strong understanding of OSP construction methods: aerial, underground, fiber installation, splicing, and testing., • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, maps, and engineering plans., • Experience managing crews, subcontractors, or field operations., • Knowledge of permitting requirements and utility coordination., • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects., • Proficiency with project management tools and Microsoft Office., • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites., • Strong leadership, communication, and problem‐solving abilities., • Ability to work in fast‐paced, deadline‐driven environments. 9. Performance Review & Continuation of Engagement This consulting engagement is performance‐based. Continuation of work, expansion of responsibilities, compensation changes, and any future discretionary immigration support (including work visa sponsorship) are contingent upon sustained performance, measurable deliverables, and business needs.
