Title: Saturday Academy Associate Instructor, Math Reports To: Senior Manager of Teaching and Learning FLSA: Part-time, Seasonal Location: New York City, in-person. Associate Instructors are the first to cover classes when instructors are out or they co-teach alongside Instructors to facilitate classroom instruction, teach mini lessons, organize small group and one-on-one instruction, and provide additional Scholar support. Associate Instructors do not have grading responsibilities. ** The Courses** Instructors will be placed depending on their self-reported proficiency and demo lesson. The math courses offered at SEO include: - 9th Math: Numbers and Operations, Graphs and Relationships, and Algebra/Pattern and Structure Courses Skills include: properties of numbers; expressions, equations, and identities; ratio and rate; percentages; proportional reasoning; irrational numbers; linear, quadratic, and exponential functions (including compound growth formula); algebraic representation of functions; graphing functions and identifying key characteristics; modeling real-world situations with functions; systems of equations and inequalities; algebra with exponents; fractional exponents and roots; algebra with rational expressions and equations; properties 2D and 3D geometric figures; introduction to coordinate geometry. - 10th Math: Trigonometry, Precalculus, and SAT Math Courses Skills include: triangle geometry and special triangles; trigonometric functions; inverse trig functions; radian measure; the unit circle; graphing and modeling with sine and cosine functions; unit analysis; function notation, including function composition and inverse functions; characteristics of graphs; transformations of graphs; average rate of change; introduction to limits; introduction to the derivative and the power rule; and content covered on the new digital SAT. ** The Sites** Saturday Academy takes place at one of our partner sites through the semester where the instructor will be placed based on the grade level they are assigned: - 9th Grade: Baruch College, (Vertical Campus Building, 55 Lexington Ave., New York). - 10th Grade: LIU Brooklyn, (1 University Plaza, Brooklyn). Job Summary: The Programs Manager is responsible for the planning and development of the Playhouse’s programs – in conjunction with the Operations Manager and local Board of Directors – and the execution and implementation of the programs daily. Responsibilities: • Read blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates. • Obtain multiple quotes from suppliers. • Attend meetings, conduct site inspection, and collaborate with field team to gather information on material and labor requirements as well as other data for project proposals. • Consistently follow up on submitted bids with Architect and/or Construction Manager. • Review budgets to make sure everything is covered before contracts are signed. • Develop accurate and concise clarifications and assumptions from contractors/architects. • Prepare accurate quantity takeoff and pricing using architectural drawings, specifications and shop drawings. • Manage multiple estimating projects concurrently with ability to multi-task with jobs that are in progress. • Solve problems and conflicts with potential glazing systems and the customization needed to meet architectural requirements. • Consider and understand problems and identify appropriate solutions. • Maintain detailed records of each project estimated and jobs in progress. The records are recorded in two locations: project file and in shared drive on the computer. • Duties are not limited to the above list but give an example of general basic requirements. • Salary will be based on experience level and background. Education Estimator will need to have earned a high school diploma or equivalent. Preferred AA or bachelor’s degree in a construction-related or business field.
