Job Description *Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) **Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP) Community Stabilization • Mobile Crisis Response • Mental Health Skill Building • Clinical Assessment Compensation: $28.00–$75.00 per hour (based on credentials, licensure, experience, and service line) Location: Hampton Roads/Tidewater, Virginia (Norfolk • Virginia Beach • Chesapeake • Portsmouth • Suffolk • Hampton • Newport News) Position Type: Independent Contractor (1099) | PRN | Full-Time | Part-Time Start Date: Immediate Openings Join Our Team Commonwealth Community Development Services (CCDS) is expanding and seeking compassionate, dependable, and ethical behavioral health professionals to provide high-quality, community-based behavioral health crisis services throughout Hampton Roads. We are hiring Qualified Mental Health Professionals (QMHPs) and Licensed Mental Health Professionals (LMHPs) to provide direct care through Community Stabilization, Mobile Crisis Response. Position Summary Clinicians provide direct behavioral health services to children, adolescents, adults, and families in homes, schools, hospitals, shelters, offices, and other community settings. Responsibilities include behavioral health assessments, crisis intervention, rehabilitation services, treatment planning, care coordination, and skill development designed to promote recovery, safety, independence, and community stability. Services are provided in accordance with current Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS), Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS), Medicaid Managed Care Organization (MCO), and agency standards. Essential Responsibilities Provide direct, face-to-face behavioral health services in community settings. Conduct assessments, crisis evaluations, suicide risk assessments, and safety planning (LMHP positions). Deliver Community Stabilization, Mobile Crisis Response, and Mental Health Skill Building services based on medical necessity. Develop and implement person-centered Individualized Service Plans (ISPs). Teach coping skills, emotional regulation, communication, symptom management, medication management support, activities of daily living, and independent living skills. Coordinate care with hospitals, Community Services Boards (CSBs), primary care providers, Managed Care Organizations (MCOs), schools, probation, and community partners. Complete timely, accurate, and Medicaid-compliant documentation in Noteable. Participate in supervision, treatment team meetings, quality improvement activities, and required trainings. Maintain compliance with HIPAA, DBHDS, DMAS, Medicaid, and agency policies. Minimum Qualifications QMHP Applicants Active Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP-A, QMHP-C, or QMHP-Trainee, as applicable). Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Human Services, Sociology, Special Education, or another qualifying human services field. Experience providing behavioral health services preferred. LMHP Applicants Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or another qualifying behavioral health field. Current Virginia licensure or residency (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, LSATP, Licensed Psychologist, or applicable Resident/Supervisee designation). Must meet Virginia DBHDS and DMAS requirements as an LMHP, LMHP-R, LMHP-RP, or LMHP-S. Experience providing behavioral health assessments, crisis intervention, and community-based services preferred. Required Qualifications Reliable, punctual, and committed to providing exceptional client care. Strong ethical standards and professional judgment. Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills. Commitment to trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and person-centered care. Valid Virginia Driver's License, reliable insured vehicle, and willingness to travel throughout Hampton Roads. Current CPR/BLS and First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire). Ability to successfully complete background checks, fingerprinting, CPS registry, OIG exclusion screening, and credentialing requirements. *For Mobile Crisis positions, successful completion of DBHDS-approved Mobile Crisis Response Training is required prior to providing Mobile Crisis services.* Why Join CCDS?
