Job Description Route Sales Professional (RSP) Locations : Ankeny, IA , Osceola, IA , Ottumwa, IA , Cedar Rapids, IA , Cedar Falls, IA Pay: $20.00 per hour 26-02720 Job Summary The Route Sales Professional is responsible for selling and delivering fresh baked products to retail, restaurant, and institutional customers. This role focuses on driving sales growth through strong customer relationships, effective merchandising, and excellent service. The RSP manages a designated route, ensures product freshness, executes promotions, and identifies opportunities to expand market share. Key Responsibilities Sales & Customer Relationship Management • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to maximize sales and retention, • Identify growth opportunities, including new accounts, expanded shelf space, and additional displays, • Introduce new products and promotions to increase sales within existing and new accounts, • Execute in-store merchandising, including product rotation and display setup, • Ensure racks and displays meet company and customer standards, • Safely operate a company delivery vehicle and load/unload products, • Deliver products according to established service schedules, • Maintain accurate inventory counts and place orders using handheld devices, • Analyze sales data to make informed decisions and improve route performance, • Use order management tools to optimize inventory and product availability, • Follow all safety procedures and company policies to ensure a safe work environment, • Maintain compliance with DOT regulations and documentation requirements, • Valid driver’s license, • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Certification Card, • Strong communication and customer service skills, • Ability to work independently and manage a route effectively, • Basic computer proficiency and ability to use handheld devices, • Ability to work in all weather conditions, • High school diploma or GED, • 3–5 years of experience in route sales, direct store delivery (DSD), or related sales roles, • Previous experience in route-based sales or delivery operations, • Strong sales and negotiation skills, • Ability to analyze data and make independent decisions, • Excellent organizational and time management skills, • Adaptability and willingness to learn, • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, • Field-based role with daily driving and customer interaction, • Exposure to varying weather conditions, • Requires daily travel along assigned route, • Must maintain DOT compliance and documentation, • Role combines sales, delivery, merchandising, and customer service responsibilities#ZR
