ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Maintain certain general ledger accounts through the processing of transactions in the financial accounting system, including cash and payables transactions as well as general journal entries, • Purchasing/Vendor management support, • Perform balance sheet account reconciliations as part of the month-end and year-end close processes, • Review sales orders submitted by the Company’s carrier and enterprise sales team for completeness and accuracy, and interfacing with sales executives to resolve outstanding matters, • Assist in the Company’s collections effort, serving as a key member of a collections team who interface on a regular basis with many of the Company’s most significant customers to ensure timely payment of outstanding charges, • Assist accounts payable team in routing invoices for approval and entering invoices into the accounting system, as needed, • Serve as a key backup to many of the key duties of the finance/accounting department, • Assist the senior finance team in producing accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, and other recurring reporting as requested, • Suggest and implement accounting processes, control procedures, and process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy, • Interface with outside auditors for annual financial statement audit, as well as other vendors as required., • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or a related field, CPA or equivalent certification preferred., • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least two (2) years in a senior or supervisory role., • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, • ERP systems knowledge preferred not required., • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills., • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness, • FirstLight provides fiber-optic data, Internet, data center, cloud and voice services to enterprise and carrier customers throughout the Northeast connecting more than 13,000 locations in service with more than 125,000 locations serviceable by our more than 25,000-route mile network. Verify and balance all revenue-generating departments' records, including room revenue, food and beverage sales, and other hotel outlets. Coordinate with the housekeeping department to ensure that room statuses are updated correctly. Follow hotel policies and procedures, maintaining confidentiality of guest information. Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring guests have a positive experience during their stay. Qualifications & Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in hospitality or accounting is a plus. Proven experience as a Night Auditor or in a similar role is preferred. Proficient in using hotel management software, accounting software, and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong mathematical and analytical skills, with keen attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during overnight shifts. Customer service-oriented with the ability to handle guest inquiries and concerns professionally. Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Knowledge of safety and security protocols, with the ability to respond to emergency situations effectively. Flexible schedule, including the ability to work on weekends and holidays.
