Job Description Our client is a leading renewable energy contractor specializing in utility-scale solar, wind, and energy storage projects across North America. As we expand our 2026 project pipeline, we’re seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead field operations and drive project success. What you’ll do: The Construction Manager will oversee all on-site construction activities for renewable energy projects from groundbreaking through commissioning. You’ll manage subcontractors, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, coordinate with engineering and procurement teams, and serve as the primary field liaison with clients and stakeholders. This role demands strong leadership, technical expertise in renewable systems, and a track record of delivering complex infrastructure projects. What you’ll bring: Project Leadership & Execution • Direct all field construction activities for solar PV, wind turbine, and/or battery energy storage system (BESS) projects ranging from 10 MW to 200+ MW., • Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules in coordination with the project management team; ensure milestones are met., • Manage subcontractor performance, including scope verification, daily coordination, quality inspections, and progress payments., • Monitor project budgets, track labor and material costs, and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality., • Review and approve subcontractor invoices, change orders, and purchase requests., • Ensure all work complies with OSHA regulations, NEC (NFPA 70E), environmental permits, and client specifications., • Maintain accurate daily logs, inspection reports, as-built documentation, and commissioning checklists., • Serve as the primary on-site contact for clients, utilities, inspectors, and local authorities., • Provide weekly progress reports to senior leadership, including photos, schedule updates, and risk assessments., • Mentor assistant superintendents, field engineers, and safety coordinators., • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and safety-first mindset. What’s required: • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent military/industry experience., • Experience: 7+ years in heavy civil, electrical, or renewable energy construction, with at least 3 years in a management role on utility-scale solar, wind, or storage projects., • Technical Skills:, • Proficient in Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or Primavera P6., • Strong understanding of PV system components (racking, inverters, combiners, SCADA) and/or wind turbine foundations and electrical collection systems., • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, single-line diagrams, civil/structural drawings, and specs., • Certifications (Required or Preferred):, • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety., • First Aid/CPR/AED., • NABCEP PV Installation Professional (preferred for solar roles)., • LEED AP or similar sustainability credential (plus)., • Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, conflict resolution, decision-making under pressure, and multitasking abilities., • Travel: Willingness to travel 50–75% within the Mid-Atlantic region; occasional overnight stays required., • Physical Requirements: Ability to walk rugged terrain, climb ladders, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. What’s preferred: • Experience with BESS (battery energy storage systems) and high-voltage substations (69 kV+)., • Background in EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) delivery models., • Union and non-union labor management experience., • Familiarity with PJM interconnection processes and utility commissioning protocols.
